    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

So just for me I am going to raise cpu contact up to 6. Also decided to roll with SP and RP stamina both at 5 from now on. If you still need cpu offense try contact at 6 with me.

The caveat to rasing contact obviously is your strikeouts vs cpu will lower. Personally I will live with it if I can get the cpu to be viable offensively. Contact at 5 strikeout numbers are good even with timing at 10. So hopefully they don't drop too much at 6.

Anyone else just not able to steal bases? It's gotten to the point where I don't even try anymore with my good baserunners, it's just almost always a guaranteed out.

We actually have success rate at 10. Do you have it there? I tag the L2 button and hold L1 until first movement. I can get good results with that.

Yea I have it as it is in the OP. Ill try that with L1 though, I'd been basically doing the opposite, tapping L1 to extend lead then holding L2 until first movement

Starling Marte tied for lead in NL with 9 stolen bases early on (28 games). I never manually steal though. Auto baserunning and just let them go on their own.

Think I finally found how high contact needs to be on AS for cpu offense. Tried 6 and it was a little better but just know long term it isn't going to be what I'm looking for. But contact at 7 it really opened up the offense for the cpu, and I was able to get 8k still. Timing and solid hits are 100% locked at 10 for me.

Bryan is using OP sliders on HOF and finding where contact can be for HOF to keep cpu offense potent enough and still get strikeouts. So it looks like we will have two sets. Everything identical except contact slider for cpu will be different. Going to continue playing with it at 7 on Allstar.

I am testing Contact at 4 on HOF and it has been really good. First three games they hit .260 and scored 16 runs in 3 games. The 4th game I gave up 10 runs on 16 hits. I know it’s been only 4 games but I have not seen games like this in this franchise this year.

Are you early or late on most pitches? Try changing pitch speed to adjust.
I use timing, but I'd lowered the human timing slider to 2 to try and slow my league leading offense down a bit. It worked as I've gone from 1st in AVG to 6th over the course of 5 games. I scored 4 runs in the 5 games and went 1-4. I raised it a notch in my last game and got back to having a decent offense, scoring 4 runs on 9 hits.

My issue is still the fact that the Rockies have a crap bullpen. I blow leads constantly, I'm currently on a 1-6 slide and 15-17 overall. I don't mind because there's a lot of realism in the stats I'm attaining.

I typically tap out on a season around 20 games because I am so bad at offense that I'm usually too frustrated to continue. This slider set and it's subsequent updates has kept the game feeling very good for me and as I constantly ride that line of being .500 and I keep trying for that one great winning streak to propel my team in the standings. I have 2 left against the division leading Giants and can't wait to play these.

I think I found a good hitting slider setup for me too on Veteran difficulty. Allstar I am not good enough for.

                    Contact 7
                    Power 4
Timing 1...strikeout good amount on Veteran this way. So similar to yours at 2.
Solid hits for now is 10, but will most likely be lowered

Testing these currently but so far they are working great for me. Hitting is very subjective and different for everyone. If I want Allstar I have to raise timing and/or lower pitch speed. I prefer Veteran and drop timing so I can keep pitch speed at 5.

We are glad that you are enjoying these sliders and that we keep it interesting for you.

For your bullpen, try mixing it up a little maybe. Send a guy that is struggling down to the minors. Or don’t keep a pitcher in there too long. Sometimes I get burned when I try to extend a guy so he can finish the inning.

I've been cycling guys through AAA, none of the Rockies relievers are rated higher than 69 or so. I also noticed through this losing skid that I've been rushing a bit in the pen, so I'm going to try and slow myself down to try and hit my spots better.

Biggest thing with this game in regards to getting through an inning with RP is the crazy two out hitting the cpu has.

If there are two outs and runners on base, specifically in scoring position I've learned to put in a new RP if out of the 3 batter rule with RP who currently pitching. Most of the time if you pitch to that next guy he will get a hit or worse, a homerun. The game has been this way with the two out deal for cpu for years now. Bringing in a new RP I can most of the time get that last out.

What's crazy is say, you leave the RP in and give up that 2 out rbi. The very next batter for the 3rd out will be the easiest out from the three that inning.

So I've always noticed that this sort of logic exists within the game, going back to like 2006 or something. Numerous times over the years I've seen discussions in the forums about it, but everyone always says that we're crazy and that it doesn't exist.

If you play all of your games this gets very very repetitive. You start seeing that the CPU comebacks are scripted and they will get hits on pitches that are placed perfectly.

So I am completely locked into the pitching and cpu hitting sliders for the foreseeable future this year. Been playing a lot, started a pitch only franchise where I play with Reds and Guardians.

Last game Guardians vs Twins I went 8.2ip with Plesac vs the Twins, holding them to 1 run on 6 hits.

Very next game it's Reds vs Pirates. Well Castillo had possibly his worst career start. Loaded bases with no outs in both the 1st and 2nd inning. His final line was 2.1ip 10h 9er 3bb 1k.

The bullpen ended up being no better. Pirates had 23 hits. Seven doubles and one homerun. 16-3 victory. I already knew I was locked in from previous games but after these two in back to back games I wanted to share. The cpu offense is absolutely viable and consistently able to be a threat. Finally!
