    Stamina

So, I was testing some sliders, and was specifically looking at stamina. And I found myself wishing that I knew approximately how many pitches a stamina rating was supposed to equate to. So, I went through the roster and jotted down the stamina ratings of 137 starting pitchers, then I went over to Baseball Reference and also recorded those pitchers' Pit/GS and Maximum Pitches for 2021. It would be more accurate to go back 3 years, since that's how SDS supposedly does it, but I figured this will probably still get it close. I then made a couple scatter charts with trend lines to get that rough approximation.

Stamina is along the X Axis, Pitches on the Y. Yellow line is his average pitches per start, white is the max he threw. So, if a guy has 85 stamina, the chart says he should average around 90 pitches a start and max out at around 108 or 109.

I find it kinda useful, figure maybe other people might too.

Another thing I discovered that I didn't know/didn't occur to me, is that I believe difficulty impacts stamina as well. I had to bump it up to 9 for the user when I was pitching on Legend+, but on Hall of Fame that felt WAY too high (I've been at 6 on HoF and like it).

    Re: Stamina

Good stuff. This is pretty spot-on with what I have observed over the years as well - I just didn't formally look at it.

On AS/AS+, I know I can expect a SP to throw the number of pitches equal to their rating + 5 to +10 (i.e. a 75 stamina SP could be expected to throw around 80-85 pitches). Now, if a pitcher has a high-effort inning(s) (>20 pitches) or gets hit around a bit; that impacts the max available pitches down as well. That marries well to your more formal assessment.

That said, one thing the game AI is doing a really good job of this year is pushing their starters to the brink in appropriate situations. I've seen 75 stamina pitchers hit 100+ pitches (and that's on default settings). They're gassed, but they hit it.
