Too many home runs?

First series of my franchise. I had 20 hits and 12 home runs..

I have since turned contact down to 4 and power and timing down the 3. Anything else I could do?

Not much information in your post. What level are you playing on? Are you on default slider’s? Zone or directional? Contact and timing affect putting the bat on the ball, power and solid hits affect putting it over the wall.

Lowering power to 3 is what we had to do in order to get a more realistic amount of homeruns. Contact and solid hits are at 5 still. It's not perfect as there may be slightly too many homeruns still for the user, but it is giving great results overall. Especially for the cpu hitting. And this is not a difficulty thing. The cpu and both human hit way too many if you track it. SDS has gone this route of homerun fests for at least the last few years now.

Yes I have HUM power at 4 on AS+ and it seems really nice so far. Still hitting jacks but 5HR+ games are gone. Will keep it like this for another 30+ games or so and see where it leads.

Another thing that comes to mind on this topic however is that so many of us are terrified of putting up “video game numbers” without ever having actually done it. Have you ever actually hit 80 HRs with someone? Ever actually had five guys with 50HR or something? Anything close? Because I certainly have not.

I would worry about “too many home runs” after you start smashing MLB records with subpar players, not before.

But yes I have power down at 4.

I originally had contact, power and timing down to 4

Recently I dropped power to 3 and it helped a little but it’s been 1 game.

Just wanted a general rundown of what everyone ideas on how to get more base hits and not have every game be 5+ homeruns

If you’re truly worried about too much power just drop power. You dropping contact will probably only make things worse. Try power at 3 for a few games. Just keep tweaking it

Also I know I probably won’t convince you but if you want realistic stats zone is probably not the way to go. Directional is completely stat driven, other than timing of course.

I play on AS+ had to lower power to 3 and bump up solid hits to 6. So far it's great. Went from hitting 5 to 7 HR a game to 1 to 3 a game

Would solid hits or power have more effect on reducing home runs, without reducing overall offense much if at all?

Power has more effect on amount of homeruns. If you're needing more offense raise contact slider.
