    Re: TNK MLB 23 SLIDERS

    Love the sliders. Two questions

Do you ever use fielding aids where you have catcher call pitches? I didn’t know if that would effect the sliders

Also what rosters are you using?

    Thanks

FIELDING AIDS - Nope.....I use Automatic fielding, let them go get the ball for you and not worry about bad angles, timing your dive or jump, etc. Focus on making the throws

CATCHER CALL PITCH - Nope, I call my own game

ROSTERS - using the Live Roster download and I added Kodai Senga from the Vault to the Mets and Tatis to the Padres. I typically wait for the Ridin/Full Minors roster, but the in game rosters this year are pretty damn good considering

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
        Game #4 of Season

Pittsburgh Pirates (2-1) @ Boston Red Sox (2-1)
Pitching Matchup – Johan Oviedo vs Kutter Crawford

The game was scoreless after 2 innings as Kutter Crawford and Johan Oviedo each cruised through their first two innings of work on the mound. Crawford battled command issues in the top of the 3rd hitting Jack Suwinski with a pitch and walking Austin Hedges and Pittsburgh opened the scoring with 2 outs when Brian Reynolds lined a ball past Devers at 3rd base and down the LF line for a two run double to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead. The Red Sox got back to back 2 out singles from Alex Verdugo and Rafael Devers in the bottom of the 3rd but Oviedo battled Justin Turner to a full count before getting him to chase a fastball away for a big K to end the threat and send the game to the 4th inning with Pittsburgh up 2-0. Crawford was through 5 innings having allowed just the one hit by Reynolds while Oviedo had allowed just two hits and retired the side in the bottom of the 5th to send the game to the 6th inning with the Pirates leading 2-0. Crawford struck out Cruz to begin the top of the 6th before back to back singles by Reynolds and McCutchen put two men on with 1 out for the Pirates. Crawford came back with a huge K of Santana and would finish his outing by getting Hayes to pop out as the Pirates strand a pair and fail to score. Alex Verdugo drove a ball over the head of McCutchen in RF for a triple to lead off the bottom of the 6th and that would be all for Oviedo as Jose Hernandez came on from the Pittsburgh bullpen to make his MLB debut. Hernandez would get Devers to ground out to Santana at first base but Verdugo would score to cut the deficit to 2-1. Hernandez allowed singles to Justin Turner and Adam Duvall putting two men on with 2 outs for Triston Casas but Hernandez would escape the jam getting Casas to hit a routine fly ball to Reynolds in LF ending the threat and sending the game to the 7th inning with Pittsburgh leading 2-1. Joely Rodriguez made his Red Sox debut out of the pen with 3 lefties due up for Pittsburgh and he would pitch a scoreless top of the 7th to keep it a 2-1 game. Dauri Moreta worked around a single by Wong in the bottom of the 7th to send the game to the 8th inning with the Pirates leading 2-1. Cruz singled off Rodriguez to lead off the top of the 8th and Ryan Brasier replaced Hernandez on the mound for Boston and gave up a single to Reynolds putting two men on with nobody out for the Pirates. McCutchen grounded out to Casas at first base but the runners would move up on the play and Brasier would then intentionally walk Santana to load the bases with 1 out for Ke'Bryan Hayes. Brasier got out of the jam as Hayes flew out to Verdugo in shallow RF for the 2nd out as the runners had to hold and Brasier would strike Choi out looking on a nasty back door slider to end the frame as the Pirates leave the bases loaded and the score remains 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th. Colin Holderman was on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Pittsburgh and Devers worked a full count before driving a ball deep down the RF line toward the Pesky pole but McCutchen would get there and reach up to take away what would have been a game tying HR for the first out. Turner struck out for the 2nd out and Yoshida flew out to McCutchen in deep RF as Holderman retires the side and sends the game to the 9th inning with the Pirates still leading 2-1. Brasier returned to the mound for the top of the 9th and Ji Hwan Bae singled with 1 out and advanced into scoring position on a chopper to 3rd base by Hedges. Oneil Cruz came up with 2 outs and Bae on second base and he would hit the ball hard on the ground to the right side but Casas would make a nice diving stop at first base and flip to Brasier just in time to get the speedy Cruz for the 3rd out and we would to the bottom of the 9th with the Red Sox coming to bat trailing 2-1. Pirates closer David Bednar was coming on to pitch the bottom of the 9th looking to close it out and record the save for Pittsburgh. The Red Sox had Duvall, Casas and Arroyo due up in the bottom of the 9th and Duvall lined a ball into RF for a lead off single putting the tying run on base for Boston with nobody out. Bednar came right back to get Casas to ground into a huge 6-4-3 double play and the Red Sox were down to their final out. Christian Arroyo would go down swinging on a breaking ball in the dirt as Bednar picks up his 2nd save of the season and the Pirates hang on to win 2-1

For now, the first 6 games have been very competitive, with a good AI respecting the set sliders.
Surely my level can't be compared to that of the American players in the slightest but still triples, doubles and Home Runs I I am able to do

After the first 30 games I will surely have a clearer picture and I will be able to better judge this set (unless you make some further changes in the meantime).
Compared to the gameplay setting you made, I have only minimal and inconsistent differences, for the complex instead it's exactly what you posted.

Feel free to try tweaking any slider you feel like you need to ......maybe even try just SWING TIMING and see if things change
Nah, I never use power swing. That's weird. I'll give it a few more games to see if maybe it equals out and I start seeing more extra base hits other than homeruns. I tried lowering power by 1 and increasing solid hits last night but that had the opposite effect and I had too many doubles lol.

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
              Game #5 of Season

Pittsburgh Pirates (3-1) @ Boston Red Sox (2-2)
Pitching Matchup – Roansy Contreras vs Nick Pivetta

The Pirates opened the scoring when Ke'Bryan Hayes got into a hitters count leading off the top of the 2nd and Nick Pivetta left a fastball up in the zone to Hayes who hammered it deep down the LF line and the ball would hit the foul pole over the green monster for a solo HR to give Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead. The Red Sox answered in the bottom of the 2nd when Roansy Contreras hung a curveball to Triston Casas who crushed it 414 feet for a solo HR to tie the game 1-1. The Red Sox took the lead in the bottom of the 4th as Masataka Yoshida doubled off the green monster to lead off the inning and he came in to score when Casas lined a ball into the LF corner for a RBI double with 1 out giving Boston a 2-1 lead. The Red Sox caught a tough break as Kike Hernandez followed with a double but Casas pulled up with a hamstring issue and had to leave the game and Christian Arroyo came on to replace Casas. Reese McGuire came up with runners on 2nd & 3rd and made it 3-1 with a sac fly to RF. Yu Chang followed with a ground ball up the middle for a RBI single to make it 4-1. Contreras would get out of the inning with no further damage and we would head to the 5th inning with Boston leading 4-1. Pivetta cruised through the top of the 5th and Yoshida would hit his 2nd double of the game with 1 out in the bottom of the 5th to knock Contreras out of the game as Jose Hernandez came in from the pen and retired Duvall and Arroyo to send the game to the 6th inning with the Red Sox up 4-1. Pivetta retired Cruz to begin the top of the 6th before Brian Reynolds singled and Andrew McCutchen hit a ball in the gap in right-center for a RBI triple to cut the deficit to 4-2. Carlos Santana was up next and fouled off several pitches with two strikes before ripping a RBI single up the middle on the 12th pitch of the at bat to drive in McCutchen and make it a one run game at 4-3. Hayes followed with another single and that would be all for Pivetta as Richard Bleier came in from the pen with 1 out and a string of lefties coming up for Pittsburgh. Bleier did his job as he struck out Ji-Man Choi for the 2nd out and then struck out Jack Suwinski to strand a pair and end the frame with the Red Sox lead intact at 4-3. The Red Sox answered in the bottom of the 6th as Reese McGuire singled and Yu Chang lined a ball in the gap for a RBI double scoring McGuire all the way from first base to extend the Sox lead to 5-3. Bleier returned to the mound for the top of the 7th and retired the first two batters and should have been out of the inning when Cruz grounded to second base but Chang booted the ball and was charged with an error on the play. Reynolds was up next and smoked a ball to deep LF but Yoshida would make the catch on the warning track to end the top of the 7th. Chase De Jong pitched a scoreless bottom of the 7th for Pittsburgh to send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 5-3. Chris Martin retired McCutchen and Santana to begin the top of the 8th before a throwing error by Devers allowed Hayes to reach and keep the inning alive. Ji-Man Choi made the error hurt as he drove a ball high and deep to RF for a RBI double to cut the Red Sox lead to 5-4. Martin hit Suwinski with a fastball in to put two men on with 2 outs for Ji-Hwan Bae who would ground out to Chang at second base as Martin gets out of the jam with the 5-4 lead intact. Duane Underwood came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th and recorded two quick outs before McGuire doubled to RF. Underwood would strikeout Chang to end the 8th inning and send the game to the 9th inning with the Pirates coming up to bat trailing 5-4 and Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen coming on to try and close it out for Boston. The Pirates had Hedges, Cruz and Reynolds due up against Jansen in the top of the 9th and Hedges would bounce to Casas at first base for the 1st out. Cruz hit a fly ball towards the LF corner but Yoshida would make a nice running catch and the Pirates were down to their final out. Reynolds would work to a full count and Jansen would make an excellent pitch as he started a cutter off the plate which locked up Reynolds as the ball cut right back over the outside edge as he goes down looking and Jansen earns his 2nd save as the Red Sox hang on for a 5-4 victory

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                Game #6 of Season

Pittsburgh Pirates (3-2) @ Boston Red Sox (3-2)
Pitching Matchup – Mitch Keller vs Corey Kluber

The game was scoreless after 2 innings and the Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd when Brian Reynolds took Kluber deep for a 2-run HR to CF. Boston answered in the bottom of the 3rd as Justin Turner hammered a ball in the gap to drive in two runs and tie the game 2-2 and Masataka Yoshida followed with a RBI single to LF putting the Red Sox in front 3-2. Boston added to their lead in the bottom of the 4th as Raimel Tapai and Yu Chang singled to put two men on and Connor Wong delivered a RBI single to RF extending the lead to 4-2. Kluber and Keller pitched 1-2-3 frames in the 5th to send the game to the 6th inning with Boston leading 4-2. Kluber retired the first two batters to begin the top of the 6th before hanging a breaking ball to Ji-Man Choi who launched it into the Red Sox bullpen for a solo HR cutting the deficit to 4-3. Alex Cora would come out of the dugout and make the move to Josh Winckowski out of the pen with 2 outs and he would get Suwinski to fly out to Yoshida in LF to end the frame. Dauri Moreta was on to pitch the bottom of the 6th for Pittsburgh and would surrender back to back singles by Arroyo and Tapia to start the inning and put two on with nobody out. Moreta would retire Chang and Wong bringing up Alex Verdugo with 2 outs and two men in scoring position and Verdugo would rip a ball through the right side into RF for a RBI single as two runs score to open the Red Sox lead up to 6-3. The Pirates would put two men on with 2 outs against Winckowski in the top of the 7th and John Schreiber would come on to face Andrew McCutchen in a big spot. McCutchen would jump on a first pitch slider from Schreiber and drive it deep to LF off the wall just above the leaping attempt by Yoshida for a two run double as Pittsburgh cuts the Sox lead to 6-5. Schreiber would come back with a huge strikeout of Carlos Santana to strand McCutchen in scoring position. Duane Underwood was on to pitch for Pittsburgh and 3 straight singles by Yoshida, Duvall and Arroyo would load the bases for Tapia with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th. Tapia would hit a soft liner into LF for a RBI single as Yoshida & Duvall score to push the Sox lead back to 3 runs at 8-5 and Chase De Jong would replace Underwood on the mound. Yu Chang lined a RBI single to CF making it 9-5 before De Jong retired Wong and Verdugo to end the inning and send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 9-5. The Pirates took advantage of some sloppy defense by the Red Sox in the top of the 8th as Hayes led off with a single before Justin Turner made a diving stop on a ground ball from Choi but his throw to second base sailed into LF for an error putting two on with no outs. Jack Suwinski followed with a double play ball to Devers at 3rd base but his throw was wide and went into RF as Hayes scored and Pittsburgh now had runners at the corners with nobody out trailing 9-6. Ji-Hwan Bae ripped a RBI single into RF to make it 9-7 and Chris Martin would come on to take over for Schreiber on the mound for Boston two on and nobody out and Austin hedges would sac bunt the runners into scoring position. Cruz would follow with a sac fly to CF to bring in Suwinski and cut the deficit to 9-8 bringing up Brian Reynolds with 2 outs and the tying run 90 feet away on 3rd base. Reynolds would foul off a couple tough pitches with 2 strikes before Martin would get him swinging on a cut fastball for a huge K to end the inning and send the game to the bottom of the 8th with the Red Sox leading 9-8. Colin Holderman retired the side in the bottom of the 8th to send the game to the 9th inning with Pittsburgh coming to bat trailing 9-8. Kenley Jansen came on to pitch the top of the 9th for Boston looking to close it out. Jansen struck out McCutchen and Santana would fly out to Verdugo in RF and the Pirates were down to their final out with Ke'Bryan Hayes coming up. Jansen would get two quick strikes before freezing Hayes who went down looking on a slider to end the game as the Red Sox hang on for a 9-8 victory

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                  Game #7 of Season

Boston Red Sox (4-2) @ Detroit Tigers (3-3)
Pitching Matchup – Chris Sale vs Spencer Turnbull

The Red Sox play their first road game of the season as they are in Detroit for the Tigers home opener at Comerica Park and Boston would open the scoring in the top of the 2nd as Masataka Yoshida struck out to lead off the inning but reached base when the ball skipped away from Rogers behind the plate and his throw to first pulled Torkelson off the bag. Yoshida would come in to score when Christian Arroyo lined a RBI double down the LF line to give Boston a 1-0 lead. Rafael Devers made it 2-0 with 2 outs in the top of the 3rd when Turnbull left a changeup up in the zone and Devers hammered it down the RF line and the ball would clang high off the foul pole for a solo HR. Chris Sale was sharp early on the mound for Boston as he had retired 9 straight Tigers on his first trip through the lineup and we would head to the 4th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Matt Vierling singled to lead off the bottom of the 4th to give the Tigers their first base runner of the game. Sale would retire Greene and Baez bringing up Torkelson with 2 outs and Vierling would take off on the first pitch to Torkelson but Reese McGuire delivered a perfect throw to nail him at second base and end the inning to send the game to the 5th inning with the Red Sox up 2-0. Turnbull recorded his 5th and 6th strikeouts in a scoreless top of the 5th while Sale retired the side in order in the bottom of the 5th and had allowed just one base runner through 5 innings as the game would move to the 6th inning with the Red Sox leading 2-0. Rafael Devers doubled to lead off the top of the 6th but Turnbull would come back to retire Turner, Yoshida and Duvall to strand Devers in scoring position and keep it a 2-0 game. Sale continued to dominate as he retired the side and struck out Nick Maton to end the bottom of the 6th sending the game to the 7th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Tyler Alexander came on in relief of Turnbull to begin the top of the 7th and Triston Casas doubled to lead off the inning for Boston. Christian Arroyo was up next and dropped a RBI single into CF scoring Casas to make it 3-0. Matt Vierling led off the bottom of the 7th by working a 9 pitch walk giving the Tigers just their second base runner of the ball game. Sale would come right back and get Riley Greene to hit the ball on the ground to Devers to start a 5-4-3 double play and then blew a 95 mph fastball past Javier Baez to end the 7th as Sale has pitched 7 shutout innings and allowed just 1 hit as the Red Sox had a 3-0 lead after 7 innings. Alexander remained in the game for Detroit and Devers singled to lead off the top of the 8th for his 3rd hit of the day. Masataka Yoshida singled with 1 out to put two men on but Alexander would get Duvall to fly out and Casas to chase a pitch in the dirt for the 3rd out to keep the Tigers in the game as the score remained 3-0. Sale returned to the mound for the bottom of the 8th having thrown 79 pitches through his first 7 innings of work and Spencer Torkelson shot a ball through the right side for a lead off single on just the 2nd hit of the game for Detroit. Eric Haase flew out to Verdugo in RF for the 1st out and Miguel Cabrera popped up to Hernandez at SS for the 2nd out. Jonathan Schoop came up with 2 outs and Sale would jam him with a fastball in on the hands getting Schoop to fly out to Verdugo in shallow RF to end the 8th inning and send the game to the 9th with Boston leading 3-0. Rony Garcia came on to pitch the top of the 9th for Detroit and the Red Sox were threatening to put the game out of reach as singles by Arroyo and Verdugo would put runners on the corners with 2 outs for Rafael Devers who was 3 for 4 with a single, double and a HR in the game. Garcia fell behind in the count and Devers would get a good pitch to hit and smoked a line drive into CF for a RBI single extending the Sox lead to 4-0. Turner was up next and he would fly out to Vierling in RF stranding a pair as Garcia avoids the big inning and send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Tigers coming up to bat trailing 4-0. Chris Sale returned to the mound to begin the bottom of the 9th looking to finish off a gem as he has allowed just 2 hits over 8 shutout innings having thrown 91 pitches on the afternoon. Jake Rogers led off the bottom of the 9th for Detroit and popped up to McGuire behind home plate for the 1st out. Nick Maton jumped on the first pitch he saw from Sale and hit a soft liner into LF for a 1 out single. Sale came back with a big K as he set up Vierling nicely with hard stuff before going to the changeup away for his 7th strikeout of the game and the Tigers were down to their final out with Riley Greene coming up. Sale had 2 strikes on Greene and tried to put him away with a fastball but Greene dropped a blooper behind SS for a single to put two men on for Detroit with Baez coming up. The Red Sox had Zack Kelly ready in the pen with Kenley Jansen getting loose just in case as Alex Cora came to the mound for a visit. Cora stuck with Sale to face Baez giving him one chance to finish off the complete game shutout as this will be the last batter he faces regardless of the outcome as he was at 102 pitches and the game was either going to be over or the Tigers will be bringing the tying run to the plate. Sale would get ahead in the count sticking with changeups and sliders low and away as Baez ripped a ball foul down the LF line and then fought off a slider away to stay alive before Sale froze him with a fastball up and in for the K to finish off a gem as Sale goes the distance and the Red Sox win 4-0

                    Re: TNK MLB 23 SLIDERS

I started a Franchise but there was always something that turned in my head. To Play with yours same cameras configuration. I never played with a retro cameras both for pitching and hitting. So i've tried.
I set up cameras as you described in the initial post and played 6 innings with Boston and Pittsburgh to try (but without setting the sliders, I just wanted to try the cameras).
I didn't imagine I could perceive the moment of hit a little better. While for the pitch I still have to get used to it (since I've always liked playing with the view on the catcher who gives pitching advice).
I noticed that actually the strike zone, if present, gives a bit of a nuisance, both in pitching and hitting, so I removed it. I left only the hot zones (since catchers have suggestions on their opponents' favorite hitting areas anyway).
I'll keep trying to play with this cameras setup, who knows I can't get even better.

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                      Game #8 of Season

Boston Red Sox (5-2) @ Detroit Tigers (3-4)
Pitching Matchup – Tanner Houck vs Joey Wentz

The Red Sox got off to a fast start against Joey Wentz in the top of the 1st as Rob Refsnyder led off the game with a rocket to CF for a double and Rafael Devers jumped on a first pitch fastball from Wentz and launched a ball deep down the RF line that was hooking and rang off the foul pole for a 2-run HR to give the Sox a quick 2-0 lead. Tanner Houck was sharp early on the mound for Boston and the Red Sox had a 2-0 lead after 2 innings. The Red Sox extended their lead in the top of the 3rd when Justin Turner doubled and came in to score when Masataka Yoshida smoked a ball into the gap in right-center for a RBI triple to make it 3-0. Adam Duvall lined a RBI single into CF scoring Yoshida opening up a 4-0 lead for Boston. The Red Sox were threatening again in the top of the 4th inning after singles by Kike Hernandez and Connor Wong put two men on and Rafael Devers would line a rocket into gap in right-center for a two run double to make it 6-0 and knock Wentz out of the game. Garrett Hill came in from the pen to take over on the mound for Detroit and Justin Turner lined a RBI double to left-center to add another run making it 7-0. The Tigers had two men on with 1 out in the bottom of the 4th but Houck would record back to back Ks of Spencer Torkelson and Miguel Cabrera to end the threat and send the game to the 5th inning with Boston in complete control leading 7-0. Hill did a great job out of the pen for Detroit as he had thrown 3+ innings of scoreless relief while the score remained 7-0 as Tanner Houck continued his strong outing and finished his outing with 7 shutout innings as he got Nick Maton to bounce back to the mound to start a 1-6-3 double play to end the bottom of the 7th and send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 7-0. Hill pitched another scoreless frame in the top of the 8th while Zack Kelly took over for Houck and would get Akil Baaddoo to ground into a 5-4-3 inning ending double play to send the game to the 9th with the Red Sox still leading 7-0. Garrett Hill returned to the mound for the top of the 9th and retired the side in order and the Tigers would come to bat in the bottom of the 9th trailing 7-0. Kelly stayed in to pitch the bottom of the 9th for Boston and issued a lead off walk to Riley Greene. Kelly came back to strikeout Javier Baez swinging on a slider away and Kerry Carpenter looking at a 95 mph fastball as the Tigers were down to their final out. Kelly recorded his 3rd straight K as Spencer Torkelson went down looking at a changeup and the Red Sox win 7-0

                        - Move the camera up & down, zoom in & out and change the tile/angle until you figure it out

POST #2 OF THREAD HAS SEVERAL MORE SCREENSHOTS TO REFERENCE FOR CUSTOM CAMERA

Can anyone tell me if the custom camera can be placed anywhere in the stands? I get tired of the same old two basic views and when watching a cpu vs cpu game I would prefer more of an option from the stands as the play unfolds. Thank you.

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                          Game #9 of Season

Boston Red Sox (6-2) @ Detroit Tigers (3-5)
Pitching Matchup – Kutter Crawford vs Matt Boyd

The Tigers were opened the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Miguel Cabrera was on base after drawing a walk and Kutter Crawford started Jonathan Schoop off with a changeup that stayed up in the zone and Schoop hammered it for a 2-run HR to LF giving Detroit a 2-0 lead. Matthew Boyd had control problems in the top of the 3rd and the Red Sox made him pay as he walked Devers and then hit Verdugo with a pitch putting two men on for Boston and Adam Duvall would drive a ball off the wall in CF for a RBI double as two runs score to tie the game at 2-2. Christian Arroyo followed with a ground ball through the left side for a RBI single as Duvall slid in safe at the plate just beating the throw home from Baddoo to give Boston a 3-2 lead. The Tigers tied the game up in the bottom of the 3rd as Akil Baddoo doubled to lead off the inning, advanced to 3rd on a ground out by Greene and came in to score on a RBI ground out by Javier Baez and score was tied 3-3 at the end of 3 innings. The Red Sox went down quickly as Boyd retired the side in order in the top of the 4th and the Tigers would get a lead off single from Torkelson in the bottom half and he would come into score on a big two out RBI single to RF by Schoop giving Detroit a 4-3 lead. Crawford would get Baddoo to pop up to end the inning and we would head to the 5th inning with the Tigers leading 4-3. The Red Sox answered in the top of the 5th as Justin Turner singled and Alex Verdugo walked to put two men on for Adam Duvall with 1 out and Duvall ripped a ground ball past the dive of Maton down the 3rd base line into the corner for a two run double to put Boston back on top 5-4. Christian Arroyo dropped a sinking liner into RF and the ball got past the dive of Carpenter for a RBI double making it 6-4 and that would be all for Boyd as Rony Garcia came in to pitch for Detroit with 1 out. Garcia retired Kike Hernandez then struck out Triston Casas to end the frame and strand Arroyo in scoring position. Crawford issued a lead off walk to Greene to begin the bottom of the 5th and Baez followed with a liner in the gap in right-center for a RBI double pulling the Tigers within a run at 6-5 and knocking Crawford out of the game as Josh Winckowski made his way in to take over on the mound for Boston. Winckowski issued a walk to Carpenter to put runners on 1st & 2nd with nobody out but he would get Torkelson to bounce into a big 6-4-3 double play and then retired Cabrera on a ground out to escape the jam with and send the game to the 6th inning with Boston leading 6-5. Garcia and Winckowski pitched scoreless frames in the 6th to send the game to the 7th inning with Boston up 6-5. Jason Foley pitched a scoreless top of the 7th for Detroit while Winckowski remained in the game for Boston and retired the side in the bottom of the 7th to send the game to the 8th inning with the Red Sox leading 6-5. Foley worked around a lead off double by Triston Casas in a scoreless top of the 8th while Chris Martin came on and made quick work of the Tigers in the bottom of the 8th as we would move to the 9th inning with the Red Sox leading the Tigers 6-5. Will Vest retired the side in the top of the 9th for Detroit and the Tigers would come up to bat in the bottom of the 9th trailing 6-5 with Kenley Jansen coming on to pitch the bottom of the 9th looking to close it out and complete the series sweep for the Red Sox. Detroit had Maton, Schoop and Haase due up against Jansen in the bottom of the 9th and Jansen would record the first out as Maton chopped back to the mound bringing up Schoop with 1 out. Schoop hit a hard ground ball up the middle but Hernandez would make a nice play ranging to his left as he went down to a knee to field it and popped up and made a strong throw over to Casas to get Schoop and the Tigers were down to their final out. Haase laid off a couple close pitches and fouled off a couple two strike pitches from Jansen to stay alive before Jansen tried to put him away with a two seam fastball away but Haase would go with the pitch and drive it the opposite way high and deep and the ball would carry over the wall for a dramatic game tying HR to tie the game 6-6 as Jansen blows his first save in a Red Sox uniform. Akil Baddoo drew a walk and stole second base and suddenly Detroit had the potential winning run in scoring position but Jansen would lock up Riley Greene with a back door cutter for a huge K to end the 9th with the score tied 6-6 and we were headed for extra innings. The Red Sox reclaimed the lead in the top of the 10th on a lead off RBI single up the middle from Kike Hernandez scoring Arroyo who was the extra innings base runner to give Boston a 7-6 lead. Ryan Brasier came on to pitch the bottom of the 10th for Boston looking to close it out and recorded the first two outs with ease before Spencer Torkelson singled up the middle to score Vierling who was on to pinch run as the extra innings runner for Detroit to tie the game 7-7. Miguel Cabrera followed with a single and suddenly the Tigers had the potential winning run in scoring position for Nick Maton with 2 outs. Maton would ground out to Devers at 3rd base and the game would move to the 11th inning. Tyler Alexander pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 11th for Detroit and the Tigers would have a chance to win in the bottom of the 11th with John Schreiber coming on to pitch for Boston. Schreiber struck out Schoop on a slider away to begin the inning that bounced away from Wong for a second allowing Kreidler who was on as a pinch runner to advance to 3rd base and the Tigers had the winning run 90 feet away with 1 out and Eric Haase coming up. Haase went after the first pitch from Schreiber and was able to lift the ball to LF where Refsnyder made the catch and his throw home was off line as Kreidler raced home with the winning run to give the Tigers a 8-7 win in 11 innings

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                            Game #10 of Season

Boston Red Sox (6-3) @ Tampa Bay Rays (5-4)
Pitching Matchup – Nick Pivetta vs Josh Fleming

Josh Fleming and Nick Pivetta were both sharp in the early stages of the game with both allowing 1 hit through 3 innings and we would head to the 4th inning with the score tied 0-0. The game was still scoreless in the top of the 5th and the Red Sox were threatening for the first time after Alex Verdugo led off with a liner into CF for a single and Christian Arroyo walked to put two men on with nobody out. Triston Casas gave the Red Sox a 1-0 lead with a ground ball up the middle for a RBI single and Connor Wong dropped a bloop single behind 1st base and suddenly Boston was threatening to have a big inning as the bases were loaded with nobody out and the top of the order coming up. Fleming did a good job to get out of the inning with minimal damage as he would get Kike Hernandez to ground into a big 6-4-3 double play as Arroyo scores to make it 2-0 and then got Devers to pop out to end the top of the 5th with Boston now leading 2-0. Pivetta continued to keep the Rays hitters off balance as he had all of his pitches working and struck out Josh Lowe looking to end the 5th inning with a changeup away for his 6th K to send the game to the 6th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Fleming got Duvall to bounce into a 5-4-3 double play to end the top of the 6th while Pivetta retired the Rays in order in the bottom half to send the game to the 7th inning with the Red Sox leading 2-0. Colin Poche came on to pitch the top of the 7th for Tampa Bay and issued a lead off walk to Verdugo but he was thrown out stealing and Poche would get through the inning and keep it a 2-0 game. Pivetta made quick work of Lowe and Arozarena to begin the bottom of the 7th before hanging a curveball to Wander Franco who short-hopped the wall in RF for a 2 out double. Luke Raley was up next and Pivetta would get out of the inning by getting Raley to fly out to Yoshida in LF ending the 7th inning with the Red Sox still leading 2-0. Ryan Thompson pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 8th for Tampa Bay and Pivetta would return to the mound to begin the bottom of the 8th having thrown 92 pitches in the ball game as Chris Martin and Richard Bleier were ready in the pen for Boston. Isaac Paredes led off with a ground ball ripped down the 3rd base line but Devers made a terrific diving stop and fired a strong throw across the diamond for the 1st out. Pivetta would finish his outing in style with back to back Ks as he snapped off a curveball to strikeout Josh Lowe on his 100th pitch of the night and froze Manuel Margot with a fastball at the letters to end the 8th and send the game to the 9th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Thompson pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 9th and we would go to the bottom of the 9th with the Rays would coming up to hit trailing 2-0 and Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen coming on to try and finish it off for Boston. Jansen would get Bethancourt to fly out to Verdugo for the 1st out and Yandy Diaz tried to check his swing but couldn't hold up on a slider away as the first base ump rang him up for the K and the Rays were down to their final out with Brandon Lowe coming up. Things got interesting as Jansen got squeezed and Lowe would draw a 2 out walk to bring the tying run to the plate in Randy Arozarena but Jansen would get Arozarena to fly out to Verdugo in RF for the final out as he records his 4th save and the Red Sox win 2-0

                              Game #11 of Season

Boston Red Sox (7-3) @ Tampa Bay Rays (5-5)
Pitching Matchup – Garrett Whitlock vs Shane McClanahan

                              THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE GAME!!!

Alex Verdugo made a bid for a solo HR in the top of the 1st when he squared up a 97 mph fastball from McClanahan but Manuel Margot reached up to make the catch against the wall in RF. McClanahan struck out Justin Turner to finish off a 1-2-3 top of the 1st and Garrett Whitlock would take the mound for his 2023 debut after his rehab from off-season hip surgery caused him to be a couple weeks behind the rest of his teammates coming out of spring training. Whitlock looked sharp in his first inning of work registering 2 Ks and the game was scoreless after 1 inning. The Red Sox got a lead off double by Masataka Yoshida and Bobby Dalbec walked to put two on with nobody out in the top of the 2nd but McClanahan came back to strikeout the next 3 batters to get out of the inning. The Rays threatened in the bottom of the 2nd after Luke Raley tripled and Isaac Paredes was hit by a pitch putting runners on the corners with 1 out but Whitlock would rely on his heavy sinker to get Josh Lowe to ground to Chang at second base to start an inning ending 4-6-3 double play and send the game to the 3rd inning tied 0-0. McClanahan picked up two more K's in the top of the 3rd giving him 7 Ks through his first 3 innings while Whitlock was up to 4 Ks as he retired the side in order in the bottom of the 3rd sending the game to the 4th inning tied 0-0. McClanahan recorded his 8th & 9th Ks in the top of the 4th while Whitlock retired the side in the bottom half and the game was still scoreless after 4 innings 0-0. The Red Sox went down quietly in the top of the 5th but were making McClanahan work as he was over 70 pitches through 5 innings. Whitlock was sitting 95-97 mph with his fastball and struck out the side in the bottom of the 5th sending the game to the 6th inning locked in a 0-0 tie. The Red Sox got a double from Alex Verdugo in the top of the 6th and Yoshida would work a full count with 2 outs and foul off a couple tough pitches with two strikes to stay alive before hitting a ball that was sinking fast into shallow left-center but Josh Lowe came on to make a nice running catch to end the frame and strand Verdugo in scoring position. Whitlock ran a fastball in that hit Margot to put the lead off man on for Tampa Bay in the bottom of the 6th but Whitlock came back to retire Mejia and Diaz before Brandon Lowe singled up the middle to put two men on with 2 outs for Randy Arozarena. Whitlock would go back to his sinker and get Arozarena to ground out to Chang at second base for the final out ending the 6th inning with the score still tied 0-0. McClanahan pitched another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 7th and picked up his 10th K of the game but was up to 105 pitches on the night. Whitlock continued to match McClanahan as he retired the side in order in the bottom of the 7th and recorded his 8th K when he blew a 95 mph fastball past Paredes for the 3rd out to send the game to the 8th inning with the score still tied 0-0. The Rays had Poche and Cleavinger ready in the bullpen but McClanahan returned to the mound for the top of the 8th at 105 pitches. McClanahan recorded the first two outs before Rob Refsnyder lined a single to CF on pitch #120 of the game and that would be all for McClanahan as Garrett Cleavinger came in from the pen to face Verdugo who hit the ball softly to LF where Arozarena came charging to make a running catch ending the top of the 8th with the came still scoreless. Whitlock returned to the mound to begin the bottom of the 8th and Josh Lowe lined a ball into LF for a lead off single but Whitlock would get Margot to bounce back to the mound starting a huge 1-6-3 double play and then finished his night by striking out Mejia who could not hold up on a filthy changeup away as the game remained scoreless and we were headed to the 9th inning with the score tied 0-0. The Red Sox were threatening in the top of the 9th as Masataka Yoshida singled off Cleavinger with 1 out and Bobby Dalbec followed with a double off the wall in RF just missing a HR by inches as he settled for a double and the Red Sox had runners on 2nd & 3rd with 1 out for Triston Casas. Cleavinger would get ahead in the count and had two strikes on Casas and tried to put him away with a slider that stayed over the plate and Casas was able to drive a fly ball deep enough to RF where Margot made the catch and had no shot at Yoshida who tagged up and came in to score the games first run snapping the scoreless tie to give Boston a 1-0 lead. Kike Hernandez was up next and he hit the ball hard on the ground through the right side into RF for a big RBI single as Dalbec scores a big insurance run for the Red Sox to extend the lead to 2-0. Cleavinger would strikeout Reese McGuire to end the inning with no further damage and send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Rays trailing 2-0. Tampa Bay had the top of the order coming up as Diaz, Lowe and Arozarena were scheduled to hit against Kenley Jansen who was on to try and close the game out for Boston. Yandy Diaz lined the first pitch Jansen threw into CF for a lead off single and the Rays would bring the tying run to the plate with nobody out. Brandon Lowe followed by turning on an inside fastball and lining it into the RF corner for a double and suddenly the Rays had two men in scoring position with no outs in the bottom of the 9th. Jansen would get Arozarena to ground to Dalbec at 3rd base for a huge out as the runners had to hold and that would bring up Wander Franco with 1 out. Wander Franco would battle Jansen to a full count before Jansen got Franco to hit a fly ball to medium depth LF where Yoshida made the catch for the 2nd out and Diaz tagged up and headed to the plate but Yoshida and Dalbec executed a perfect relay throw to McGuire at home plate to nail Diaz for the final out of the game as the Red Sox win in dramatic fashion 2-0 and Jansen wiggles out of a tough jam to record the save

                                Game #12 of Season

Boston Red Sox (8-3) @ Tampa Bay Rays (5-6)
Pitching Matchup – Chris Sale vs Zach Eflin

The Rays opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st as Harold Ramirez doubled with 1 out and Wander Franco lined a rocket into LF for a RBI single to give Tampa Bay a quick 1-0 lead. The Red Sox were threatening in the top of the 2nd when Taylor Walls throwing error allowed Dalbec to reach and move into scoring position with 1 out. Raimel Tapia would line a ball into CF for a single as Dalbec attempted to score but Jose Siri fired a strong throw to Bethancourt to nail Dalbec at home plate. The Red Sox would get on the board in the top of the 3rd when Eflin retired the first two batters before grooving a fastball to Devers who launched it into the RF stands for a solo HR to tie the game 1-1. Taylor Walls walked to lead off the bottom of the 3rd but Sale would guess right with a pick off move as Walls took off for second base and Casas would throw him out. Sale struck out Ramirez to end the bottom of the 3rd and send the game to the 4th inning tied at 1-1. The Red Sox offense got going in the top of the 4th as Triston Casas drew a 1 out walk and Bobby Dalbec followed by hooking a line drive into the LF corner for a double to put two runners in scoring position. Raimel Tapia would knock them both in as he hit a line drive into RF for a RBI single as Casas & Dalbec score to give Boston a 3-1 lead. The Rays were threatening in the bottom half of the inning after Brandon Lowe doubled and Christian Bethancourt reached on an infield single to put two men on with 1 out for Tampa Bay. Sale would make a great pitch to freeze Josh Lowe with a 94 mph fastball away for a huge K bringing up Jose Siri with 2 outs. Siri would battle to a full count with Sale and foul off a couple tough pitches with two strikes before Sale pumped a fastball in on Siri who tried to check his swing but couldn't hold up and Sales escapes the inning and we would go to the 5th inning with Boston leading 3-1. Eflin recorded two quick outs to begin the 5th inning before Yoshida, Casas and Dalbec hit 3 straight singles with Dalbec picking up the RBI as the Sox extend the lead to 4-1 and Eflin would exit as Luis Patino took over on the mound for Tampa Bay. Sale cruised through the bottom of the 5th and the bottom of the 6th as he struck out Brandon Lowe looking at a slider that locked him up sending the game to the 7th inning with the Red Sox up 4-1. Luis Patino was pitching well out of the pen and retired the Sox in order in the top of the 7th while Sale retired the first two batters in the bottom of the 7th before Jose Siri singled up the middle to put a man on with 2 outs. Siri stole second base to move into scoring position but Sale would finish his outing by freezing Francisco Mejia with a nasty back door slider for his 9th K of the game and we would head to the 8th inning with the Red Sox leading 4-1. Patino pitched another scoreless frame striking out McGuire to end the top of the 8th and John Schreiber was on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Boston. Schreiber retired Taylor Walls before back to back singles by Randy Arozarena and Harold Ramirez put runners on the corners with 1 out for the Rays with Wander Franco coming up to bat. Franco lined a first pitch fastball from Schreiber into LF for a RBI single to cut the deficit to 4-2 and put the tying run on base for the Rays. Schreiber thought he had a called strike 3 on Brandon Lowe but the umpire called it a ball to run the count full and Schreiber went to the slider and Lowe lined it into CF for a RBI single cutting the Red Sox lead to 4-3. Chris Martin came in from the pen to replace Schreiber with runners on the corners and 1 out with Boston clinging to a 4-3 lead. Christian Bethancourt would foul off a couple tough pitches with two strikes before Martin would get him swinging on a perfectly located 95 mph fastball low and away for a huge out bringing up Josh Lowe with 2 outs. Martin would make another excellent pitch as he set Lowe up with a couple sliders away before coming up and in with a 96 mph fastball that froze Lowe who goes down looking as the Rays strand the tying run at 3rd base and Martin sends the game to the 9th inning with Boston leading 4-3. Colin Poche retired the side in order in the top of the 9th to bring the Rays up to bat with the bottom of the order due up against Sox closer Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the 9th. Jose Siri hit a slow roller to the left side and beat the throw from Dalbec for an infield single to lead off the inning for Tampa Bay. Jansen would get Mejia to pop out to Devers in foul ground for the 1st out. Yandy Diaz came on to pinch hit for Walls and he would get a first pitch slider from Jansen that stayed over the plate and Diaz drove it to the wall in left-center for a RBI double to tie the game at 4-4 as Jansen blows the save and the Rays suddenly had to potential winning run in scoring position with 1 out and Randy Arozarena coming up with a chance to be the hero. Jansen recorded a huge strikeout of Arozarena bringing up Harold Ramirez with 2 outs. Ramirez would go the opposite way with a fastball and hit a fly ball into no mans land along the RF line as Verdugo made a good effort but had too far to run as the ball would drop in just a couple feet in front of Verdugo for a walk off RBI single by Ramirez to give the Rays a thrilling come from behind victory 5-4
