7/7. I had been using 10/10 prior to using these sliders. I'm going to try to go back up gradually with the new camera view

I decided on catcher near for batting. I liked the look of retro, but it was a little too far back for me.

On another note, I used to be able to press R2 and see the cpu pitcher’s arsenol and confidence. Did they take this out in ‘23?

And, the idea of adding +10 stamina to cpu starting pitcher when I am facing him - for a guy like Cole who is already at 96, do we make him 100?

And do you think turning the jump and dive reactions to “off” would stop the excessive knockdowns?

      Thanks

Yes, any SP with 90+ stam (there aren't many) get a bump to 100 stam before the game starts.

Can't speak to dive/jump causing the excessive amount of IF "bobbles".

Worth a shot turning them off. Let us know how it goes.

No game is perfect, and that is one of very few warts that 23 has.

For instance, on MLBTS20, the OFers let so many balls drop in front of them w/o making a diving attempt at it.

I'm on XBox, but it's still available by pulling RT, which I think is the equivalent to R2 on PS5. I know there's an option to turn off fatigue and confidence in the settings, but it should still show the pitch type and previous pitch location when you're in the batters box.

Fielding is amazing in 23 except for the few couple of warts. There are a few times that there would be a looper in shallow RF and the 2B decides to cover 2nd base instead of go after the ball. Those are the times you yell at him. Just like real life lol

Been getting the baseball itch again so I may give 23 another go with these settings but with a few of my preferred settings.

So in terms of the bullpen discussion, I have always simply made sure that all RP had a max stamina of 40 and that each team only has 5 starters, all with stamina above 65. This way you don't have to worry about the LRP or SU2 spots. SU2 still gets used less in stimulated games but it's a trade off.

This has always solved most of my issues with bullpen management and has the added advantage of being quick to do. I have never been a fan of changing a slider during the game. But that is just my 2 cents on the topic. I don't like 30 team control so this fix works well for me. It's not a perfect fix, but it works quite well for me.

Funkycorn in the house. I was wondering where you were. Thanks for your feedback, I bet your insight will help some of us!

No wrong answers, but for me, I do the following for my 30-team control modern-day chise:

                    Universal edits to all pitchers:
All SP's +70 stam, all RP - 50 stam, all CP -30 stam
Each team has 6 sp's, 6 rp's and 1 cp in MLB, AAA and AA

Universal bullpen set up for simmed games:
2 lowest rated RP's (with stam under 40) go in 2 long slots
                    CP goes in CP slot
Top rated set up guy goes in set up #1 slot
Set up #2 slot leave empty
Stack rank the remaining RP's (based on their overalls) and place them in the mid slots. One caveat....the 6th SP/long guy always goes in mid slot 4 regardless of his overall rating.

Opponent's Bullpen set up for played games:
Nothing changes from above, BUT I will take the highest rated RP that is in the #1 mid slot and move him to set up #2 slot.
It's not that big of a deal to make these adjustments since I am already tweaking my opponents SP stamina +10 prior to each game anyways.

If the cpu is leading going into the 7th, it does a good job using both set up slots the correct way (for played games).

I borrowed most of this, so not coming in hot saying I created this set up, but it works.

Been lurking here for a bit. Really lost interest in most sports gaming this last few months. But the baseball itch is starting to come back and I think I might end up starting a new Indians/Guardians dynasty either in 1990/present day on 23.

Interesting stuff on the edits for the pitchers. Since I end up usually simming into future years, 30 team control is usually too much for me to handle controlling everything.

I hear ya! I used to be "scared" of 30-team control.

I set everything to auto (cpu profile), except 40-man and Lineups/Rotation, so it isn't that daunting TBH.

Heck, do 30-team control and set everything to auto on the cpu profile side. Then, if you get the itch to change teams, make adjustments to the cpu lineup etc. you can just go into their profile and set those things to manual.

To me, 30-team control is the best of both worlds. Control as little or as much as you can handle on the cpu side.

Dowie, perfect view on 30 TC. It's a nice feature to be able to jump in when you see fit. I often let things ride, bc that's the approach I like to take. But, it's also nice to step in when you see a potential storyline. Most of the time, I do lineups and rotations, and then let the rest play out.

I can’t believe I don’t know the answer to this lol but I recently started throwing whatever the catcher is putting down for signs instead of calling my own game but how do you tell where they want the pitch to be thrown. Just trying something different.

The floating mitt will appear (showing desired pitch location) I had to turn on a feature in the gameplay settings to enable that feature.

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, but I just remember turning stuff on/off until the mitt showed up.

                              I'll take a look later 2nite when I hop on my PS5.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I use auto throw, field and run, so in order to see the "floating glove" / catchers desired pitch location I went to SETTINGS, then DISPLAY and turned on FIELDING AIDS.

Lemme know if that did the trick, but I think that was settings I had to adust.
