    Pitch Speed effect SB?

It says on the Pitch Speed slider that it does not effect gameplay. Do you guys think it effects SB success though since the catcher gets the ball so much quicker?

I’m convinced that it certainly does. Some may argue that it does not.

Hard to say, but I do think the variable jump a runner gets is far more important than the pitch speed in determining whether the runner will be out or safe. And that can be influenced by the baserunner steal ability slider.

Practice mode is great for figuring out a balance on things like this - even more so because you can now change sliders without having to exit the mode.

It has always been the understanding that pitch speed is a "visual" aid only.

Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

Never thought about doing quick tests in practice mode, that is a good idea

Yes and that is the reason I like to Max it out in Manage Mode. The speed looks much more realistic for sure. SB are a tricky thing in this game to get it to match near the real MLB.

Im a MoM player as well. I always use dugout view, but never thought of pitch speed as a needed tool for MoM. Interesting.

i'm pretty sure someone did some testing of this a few years ago at 0, 5, and 10 and came up with no statistical difference in steal percentage
