So I checked and fixed all files for corruption with mp3 diags and tried the recommended steps and it still didn't work.

I then tried again uploading a couple of SOTS starter packs and it crashed again. This is really frustrating. I can play all these files with no issues on itunes and the PS4 media player. If there is a file that the game believes is corrupted how the hell do we determine what file it is?

Another thought, could it be something with the format of my usb stick? I have it formatted as FAT32 but have read somewhere that the PS4 prefers exFat. Anyone try this?

I am about to give up and wait for a patch from Sony. This doesn't seem like something I will be able to solve. I just hope it doesn't take too long for a patch.

tbh I think it's just purely about luck... It works for some people and it doesn't for others. I've tried so many different methods and followed steps perfectly and there's always something that prevents me from uploading all my songs successfully without crashing the game, songs being unplayable or freezing my game, etc. Eventually I reached the point where I'm just going to play the game and wait for a patch that addresses & fixes the issue or else I'm just going to end up more and more frustrated. In the mean time, I just mute my TV whenever I get out of a game and am in the menu because those 13 or so songs are burned into my head by now.

I've tried every method in here. It worked well to import 2 songs at once. Then twice it did the freezing thing. So I deleted those songs and it worked. For some reason it really dislikes anything from the red hot chili peppers, and Aerosmith....

I doubt it has anything to do with the amount of songs being uploaded. I started working on my walkups before even knowing that people were having issues. I downloaded all the starter packs from CujoMatty and uploaded about 273 songs. No crash, No issues.

I'm thinking it has something to do with corrupted files as someone said on this thread earlier

Followed every method here and still can't figure out this issue.

What really annoys me is that all files transfer without issue, no corrupt messages whatsoever. The fact that I have hundreds of files, testing them individually sucks especially if each "bad file" is a 3-6 hour issue as I re-download the game.

I had no issues with any of the music from the starter packs.
I just had a thought though...

Could the length of the song have something to do with it? I'm at work, so can't text it till later tonight. But my issues were with certain full length songs I was trying to add. When I get home in going to see if they are longer then the others that worked.

Re: For those having Playlist Edit/Deleting Files crash issues (TEMPORARY fix)

Why I didn't think of this earlier is beyond me but, I backed up my PS4 data to an external drive of mine. So now when things go wrong, I have a clean install of 16 and I'm only out of commission for 15 minutes tops compared to 6+ hours.

                  Update:
I noticed something interesting while testing, prior to installing files for SOTS I noticed that according to MLB16, my USB drive had 1.2GB of songs on it. I realized that was impossible as the max I have ever loaded at once was 254MB. So I turned everything off and went back a second time with the same reading of 1.2GB. I then shut down the PS4 and pulled the usb drive out. Verified on my computer that my drive did not have 1.2GB of files on it. I then grabbed my mp3 files that installed without crashing the game. Loaded the Show and MLB 16 then listed that my USB drive had 254MB written to it. Plenty of testing to go but now I have an idea of what to look for. I will post again after conducting more testing.

This all seems to indicate that leads me to believe that one or more of my files that are causing the corrupt crash state

Update: I had one bad file and I found it. Amazing that 781 files were fine but just having one that doesn't play nice causes a fatal error. Either way I'm happy after all the troubleshooting my issue is resolved best of luck to anyone else dealing with this issue.

How did you discover what file was corrupted? Any tools we can use to scan our mp3s for errors.

The underlying reason for this from what I can tell is the fact that they never added a proper file management system that can bypass a bad file. It's there - it just crashes out when a bad file is present when it scans through them, thereby defeating the purpose of having a delete option more or less (unless you're just removing a working file for preference purposes).

With the PS3 having file management, I actually had plenty of files that were corrupted or wouldn't play or whatever. The game didn't have to work as hard to manage that. The file system in the game is just flawed in that they must have tested it with files that had consistent everything i.e. quality, metadata, rip source, etc. They didn't plan ahead for the sheer variety and deviation in quality that comes with people importing their own files.

The fix boils down to being able to make files removeable even when corrupted. You wouldn't have to reinstall that way. The only reason a reinstall is necessary is that there's no backup plan when the delete function crashes since the files aren't physically on the PS4 harddrive - it's basically all or nothing at that point until you find the culprit mp3.

does anyone know how to add the songs to the thumb drive on a mac? I'm trying it on an old pc right now and it's not working either. I've tried right clicking the links, dragging them into the folder, right clicking and opening them, and double clicking them. When i try to open them i get a new tab opened and at the bottom it says it's done loading but the page is blank. On the mac i can open a list of the music files in a new window but thy aren't playable or dragable. can anyone help me out?
Also i tried posting a new thread for this question but it wouldn't let me
