Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
Anything above 98 db ruins the track with feedback. I have all mine at 98db and they sound fine.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
Mine are at 101db and they sound fine through tv speakers and quality headphones. If they were distorted I wouldn't use them. To say that the track gets ruined simply isn't true.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
At 100db or more, the track clips which ruins the track. You can edit and lower it back down to 89db but the clipping remains, therefore ruining the track permanently. I am not the only one that tried it, Matty did as well and got the same results.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
Once again, if you know what you're doing, and are willing to put in the time, then like I said earlier 100+ db are fine. There are ways to avoid clipping and raise the total db without distortion. You guys are awesome, and I thank you for making the sound packs...but if you knew more about audio mastering we wouldn't be having this conversation.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
It's kind of hard to explain in step by step detail, but with audio editors such as Audacity, you have to play around with the hard limit, normalize and amplify plugins. There are tutorials on each subject on YouTube if you search around.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
I watched some videos but they aren’t really helping me do what I want. Can you do me a favor and post one of your audio files at 101 dB without clipping so I can mess around with it and try and figure it out?2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
I'm hoping for more help in an upcoming patch. The volume was raised with patch 1.06, but not nearly enough. You'd think that someone at SDS has some mp3 files they could import into the game and listen to see how disparate the volume is between the in-game music and imported music. Again, since they had this down after patching last year, and in 16 out of the box, I can't figure out why this is a problem for them every year.Comment

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
Here is a picture showing two files of the same song. The top section is mp3 gain and the bottom section is Audacity. The top file in both is the original, while the bottom has been enhanced. The original was 91 db as seen in mp3 gain while the enhanced version is 101. You can also see the vast difference in the wave forms in Audacity. In both mp3 gain and Audacity there is no clipping. Just by listening to it, the enhanced version is drastically louder than the original. If it clipped in Audacity there would be red lines over the blue wave form and I've shown that the check box that shows clipping is on. Keep in mind that doing this takes a lot of time to get right. Thankfully though, SDS raised the audio levels in the last patch so the low volumes aren't that big of a deal anymore.

Re: Patch 1.06 Walkups?
Here's hoping that in future versions they just add volume sliders for imported music and music that comes in the game. That sure would be a lot easier than screwing it up every year and then having to patch.
Thank you to everyone who is trying to find workarounds.Comment
