I think this is what I am going to go with - I always do crap like this and never get going and then don't end up playing.

Dook, you're setting are basically the same as mine, but I use the 2 to 8 scale.Comment

With it checked, overall is based however you decided to weight the AI evaluation.
I spend 90% of my time in OOTP on the organization overview screen and if two players are rated at 50 across the board but one has an overall of 70 I know he's been having some good years, which I then look into more in depth.
As for the skin, I'm not sure. I've never had to troubleshoot an issue like that.badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Still haven't purchased OOTP yet,as I have been working 50 hour work weeks and my free time has been used doing yard work with the nice weather we have been having. What I need is a rainy day and day off work with a hot cup of coffee to sit down and buy the game and explore it.

What does "Automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy" and "Automatically control in-game engine" actually do? How do they affect the game? I've googled it numerous times and still have no clue which to use, when to use them, why use them, why not to use them, etc.Comment

The first means it adjusts for league totals based on history every year/era (ie: home run numbers, hits, innings pitched, doubles, triples, etc.). Its so if you start a game in say... 1905 you won't have the league leader belting 70 HR, the number will be very low.badComment

Those are for historic replays.

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Originally posted by OOTP 14 ManualAutomatically adjust league totals modifiers after each season for historical accuracy - This option will automatically adjust league totals after each season, based on the actual league totals in the upcoming year. This will result in your historical league producing league totals very similar to actual historical totals from that year.
Originally posted by OOTP 14 ManualThere is also a checkbox entitled Automatically control in-game engine to match league totals (only recommended for minors). This option automatically modifies the in-game engine in a way that the stats output closely matches the entered league totals. This works fairly well, but is not a perfect statistical rendition, particularly at the lowest minor league level. It's a decent option for players who are extremely concerned about league totals looking "realistic" in the minors.badComment

Without it checked, overall is based purely on ratings.

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
So the first option is pointless unless doing historic. Why wouldn't you use the second one though? Shouldn't that prevent things from getting way out of whack and keep things as realistic as possible?
Would it be better to use the second option for international/foreign leagues since they aren't exactly MLB level?Comment

It matters in the way the AI values their players, at least slightly, I think.badComment
