Everytime I've bought an OOTP or other sims , never fails within a month they knock it down half price for a couple of days. I will hold off until it comes down to like $20

They do the sale every year for the all-star break. It will probably be 25% off here in the next few days.

How does this game do with progression and regression? Just curious, as i've read varying reports on the OOTP boards, but they may be overblown.

Also, is the issue with rookie pitchers having insane stats a common thing? Seems like it could be quite an issue.

Just trying to see what issues there are before I dive in and buy this over the All Star Break. I'm itching for a baseball sim.

I thought those crazy stats were just their HS stats, which for some of those guys would actually be realistic. You always hear of HS pitchers stringing no-hitters and striking out a majority of batters they face.

Ahh, gotcha. I thought they were MLB stats. I would have been concerned if that were the case .

If you've googled for ballpark images like "Polo Grounds", for example, chances are you've come across a nice collection of ballpark images from a thread at ootpdevelopments.com.com. A member there took some screenshots of just about all of the ballparks in MLB10.

In MLB13 I'm trying to figure out how he was able to take the image from such a high perspective. Anyone know? The closest I've gotten to the same image was by taking screenshots from the Moviemaker feature but the it's just not nearly as consistent as the ones on ootpdevelopments.com because I have to crop out the moviemaker menu.

                From MLB10:

Where would I download the player faces and real MLB logos from? I'm looking through screenshots on the OOTP website, and everything is a generic logo with no real player faces.

I assume it's a texture pack of some sort that you can download? How would I go about installing something like that into the game?

                      There's a downloads menu somewhere. It's the "2013 All-in-One Mod".

Awesome, thanks man. Just wanted to get everything lined up before hand. Now to wait for what hopefully will be the All Star Weekend sale.

How do I go about installing the mod properly? I'm really dumb when it comes to downloading anything for games, especially mods. You should have seen how badly I messed up Oblivion the first time I tried installing mods .

All-Star Special: Save 50% on Out of the Park Baseball 14!
Get OOTP 14 For Just $19.99 During the All-Star Break!

The mid-summer baseball classic is here. Can the NL extend its three-game winning streak, or will the AL return to its prior dominance?

While you get ready to root for your favorite players, here's a chance to jump into Out of the Park Baseball 14 at a greatly reduced price. It's 50% off during the All-Star break, which means for just $19.99 you can enjoy 2013 major league rosters, the all-new player development center, the recoded scouting system, the expanded Real-Time Sim mode, and much more!

Hurry, though, because this great deal just lasts through July 17, the day after the All-Star Game at Citi Field in New York City.

This is the perfect chance to find out what Forbes to Federal meant when they said: "OOTP puts you in the driver's seat and allows you to have it your way … It is unlike any baseball game you'll play and will have you addicted in no time."

One more question. How well are the players rated out of the "box"? I feel like in the OOTP12 iOS version I have, some of the player ratings were sort of wonky.

Just curious if i'll need to make edits before hand, or if stats will be pretty much spot on.

Jumping on this when I get home from work. From what i've heard, $20 is a steal for this game.

When I started off my game the ratings seemed fine. I haven't played in a while because I've been playin MLB The Show but I plan on starting a new Astros game.

I love this game but it would be awesome if MLB The Show and OOTP teamed up and made a game. If that happened I would never leave my house again...

Yeah, this game is amazing. I'm still learning the ins and outs, but there is so much to learn that it may take me a good while.

I started up a game as the Rays. I had Myers begin the year in AAA despite being tempted to have him start with the big club. I tinkered with a possible extension for Price, but decided to let the year play out. He's asking for 5 years and 100+ million, which would tie up a large portion of my payroll.

Started the year off 23-11 and tied for 1st place with the Sox when Zobrist went down. Out of viable options, I opted to call up Myers, who was tearing the cover off the ball in AAA. That's where I last left off. I also had to send Moore down, as he had a WHIP in the 1.80's and had yet to win a start. If he can get it back together and start missing bats in the minors, i'll have him back up in a heartbeat.
