    Out of the Park Baseball 18 Is Another Home Run

    Here I was at 1:10 AM, unwittingly realizing I had let the night slip away from me. I had been playing Out of the Park Baseball for five hours in what I thought was going to be a quick play through to get a feel for the new game.

    But yet, I couldn't help myself.

    A small tweak here, move this player to AA from AAA because he's struggling, adjust my pitching staff, let's see if the Reds will take this trade.

    And then it was five hours later and 1:10 AM. That's how Out of the Park Baseball has always gotten you, and again this year, that's how it got me again.

    Out of the Park Baseball 18 is the latest release in a series that has become a staple in the discussion for Sports Game of the Year here at Operation Sports.

      the 3d engine ihas gotten pretty sweet. Nothing fancy but it really lets you follow the game now.

          It's such a solid and immersive game, well worth the price every year. For this type of game to get the Metacritic "Game of the Year" tells you how bloody fantastic it is.

              Agree 100%. OOTP is the best baseball game on the market. Yes, better than the Show. If you can get over the eye candy aspect that comes along with a console game, and if you truly love the science and business of baseball, OOTP will make it very hard to take the Show as anything more than moderately serious.

              OOTP 18 is fantastic. I wrote the review for OOTP 17 here at OS, and I was critical in a few places because I thought the team was a bit stagnant from 16 to 17, but 18 is exactly what I was hoping to see from that team.

              Bravo, Markus and co. Why Microsoft hasn't bought this engine yet is beyond me.

                  I really like OOTP17 despite being a fairly casual real life baseball fan. Unfortunately I have no interest in the Negro leagues, is OOTP18 worth the step up?
