OOTP 19 Two-Way Players
I've noticed that there are two-way players in OOTP 19 (Shohei Ohtani, Brendan McKay, Hunter Greene). However, I can't find a way to turn fictional players into two-way players. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!Tags: None -
Re: OOTP 19 Two-Way Players
When they are on a team, go to their strategy settings (Actions...->Set Game Strategy) and click the box that says "Use as a two-way player"."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18 -

Nick Storz is a guy that can handle the bat. Actually DHed for me one game went 1-3 with a BB.Moderator

Re: OOTP 19 Two-Way Players
I can post what they look like in my franchise - but it will likely be different for everyone beyond day 1.
If that's fine, I'll post next time I'm in OOTP."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: OOTP 19 Two-Way Players
I'm in September of Year 2 (2019) in my current Angels franchise.
I use the 20-80 scale and scouting so these might not be exact, but my scout is awesome and I put a lot of money into scouting.

Notes:
SpoilerStorz was drafted by the Tigers but I guess he didn't sign because he's not in their system nor is he a FA. Guess he went back to college and hasn't re-entered the draft. Otherwise, he's in limbo in my save. This might be impacting his development, especially since he's 21.
Ohtani, if those are legit (and his stats say they might be) might be partly because I picked up a "neutral" hitting coach (I wasn't sure what "type" Ohtani was as a hitter) and John Farrell, a could-be manager with an excellent development environment (likely high "handling" and "teaching" ratings). Basically I hope to build the next 10-15 years on Trout and Ohtani.
Greene is in A-ball but wants to be in the majors. He has the best fastball of the four, sitting 99-101, and is starting to develop. Allowed just a .245 BABIP in A-ball this year.
McKay is the closest to the majors, aside from Ohtani of course. He just made the jump to Durham recently and it's September, so not much playing time left for him this year (he probably won't get the jump at roster expansion with the Rays in contention).
Also, do note that you can turn ANYONE into a two-way player. You don't have to use just these guys or wait until the game makes one (and it will). If you get a guy in your international complex or draft a guy that's "just a pitcher" but has the makings of a bat (especially true on age 18-19 kids as they play a lot and everywhere in high school sometimes), two-way him and see what happens.
Guys might try it on their own or their managers might do it. Jordon Adell tried it for two months in my Angels save for some reason, and there's a LOT of guys trying it (Jay Groome, Red Sox top pitching prospect with no bat being one) in my save for whatever reason.
So if you like two-way players (like I do), keep an eye out and try some guys. Might be a way for that project player you don't care about to turn into something and earn a bench job or something.Last edited by KBLover; 04-12-2018, 05:22 PM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
