Those are awesome - where would I pick those up? The OOTP board?

Save naming convention should be like

        ballcaps_carolina_pilots

        jerseys_carolina_pilots

        jerseys_carolina_pilots_away

        logos_carolina_pilots

          This.

Name the white jersey "jersey_carolina_pilots" and the gray "jersey_carolina_pilots_away" and then the rest something like "jersey_carolina_pilots_alternate_(number or color)" or something like that. The caps are simple, the modern brown with the blue bill is the home, "caps_carolina_pilots" and the all brown modern cap is "caps_carolina_pilots_away."

Also, the jersey and cap that look like a fauxback, name them just that.

And the blue jersey and cap, I would suggest naming them with blue at the end so it's easier to remember to pair them together.

When it comes down to it, you can really use them however you want to, but thats how they're supposed to be used.

And lastly, I'll put up the logos soon, and at some point I'll get you updated uniform sets using a better template, New Era instead of UA for the caps, either keeping UA or replacing it with Nike, and without the numbers and NOB and all the unnecessary extras.

Also, I'm currently working on a 2019 uniform and fields project that will have all 2019 uniforms 100% accurate and fields as accurate as possible with multiple versions (ex. Opening Day/Week for all fields, ASG for Cleveland, playoff versions for all teams, and maybe some extra patterns or something).

Heres an example with a couple Milwaukee jerseys and a cap.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Im planning on including at least the home/away uniforms for MiLB teams in that project too.

I'm starting fresh. I get the game free every year as I review it so I take that as a nice starting point to restart and have fun with it.

                Trout Gets Mega Deal
Seven-year Pact Priced at $303 Million

Mike Trout is the best player in the game according to most. He'll be paid like it.

The average annual salary is eye-popping enough, clocking in at $43 million, but at the peak salary, Trout will earn $47 million. Per season.

"I mean, it's no surprise, " one journalist commented, "It was a keep-him-at-any-cost situation. Letting Trout walk? They might as well move out of the city while they are at it."

Trout, of course, don't want to comment on the contract, stating that his concern was "bringing a World Series championship". As usual, Trout deflected questions make towards helping the team.

"It's about the team and the city. Everything else is just an expression of trust that my focus will remain on those two things and that my play will do both justice, " Trout commented.

The Angels are currently dominating the AL West with a 47-25 record, a whopping 11 games out front.

                  League, deGrom Stunned by Trade
Mets Deal Top Pitcher to Cubs

In a move that shocked pretty much everyone, perhaps even the Cubs GM, the Mets swung a trade as the deadline approaches that sends deGrom and William Castro in return for Ian Happ, Pavin Smith, and Alonso Gaitan.

"I don't know what to make of this, " one N.L. GM commented, "The Cubs look a lot more scary come playoff time. But I don't know why the Mets even did this."

Speculation abounds from anything to internal clubhouse friction, deGrom being upset over his 2018 campaign where he was dominating but got little support, and was seeing similar in 2019, or the Mets wanted to free up money.

Whatever the case, the Cubs rotation will receive a major jolt. Hsin Guan was doing a fine job as the #1 starter, posting a 3.02 ERA, but he'll move down now. Kyle Hendricks is finessing his way to a 2.44 ERA despite just 5.7 K/9, an absolutely paltry number by today's standards, Jose Quintana has a 3.42 ERA, and don't forget about Yu Darvish and Jon Lester, both of whom are snapping back with worthwhile campaigns.

Who becomes the odd man out in that group is anyone's guess. Some might say Lester, the oldest in the bunch. Guan has options but demoting him would be tough with his good showing so far.

But talk about a good problem to have! Most teams would love to have the "problem" of figuring out which solid pitcher to move out to make room for a true big league ace.

Foxes Fall Short on Final Day
Team Reaches .500, Loses Wild Card to Phillies in Final Game

The Foxes found themselves in the midst of what would be an improving season, setting at 70-76 with roster expansion coming close. While the front office was evaluating who could get those September cups of coffee, the Foxes started on a roll.

A modest streak turned into the unthinkable.

                    .500

Then, it didn't stop there. The team poked its head into plus territory for a few days. Another slump looked like the Foxes would have to be content with coming close to 80 wins.

Instead, the team got hot again as the roster expansion plans changed and only a handful of players, ones that looked best to help the club's dark horse run, made the jump.

Fast forward to the final series. The Phillies held the second Wild Card, up three with three head-to-head games with the Foxes. The Foxes won the first two with the second win being a 7-5 nail-biter in 11 innings. Ronald Guzman hit a 2-run home run for the winning runs.

However, the Phillies routed the Foxes in game 162 to cling to their playoff berth.

The Foxes players, many of them frustrated at coming so tantalizingly close, took out their frustration on Gatorade coolers, bat racks, and their lockers. Some screamed in anger. Emotions were high. Manger Alex Hidalgo let all that play out for a bit before breaking a bat over his knee and slamming it on the floor to get everyone's attention.

"That's how I feel, too, " Hildalgo pointed to the bat on the ground, "That's how I ******* feel. I feel like each of the Phillies reached in our chest and ripped out our hearts and stomped them with their damn cleats. But that's okay. I want you to feel that. I see it on your faces. That's pennant chase baseball."

"For most of us, this is our first or second years as big leaguers, especially as full timers. Not just injury replacements or cups of coffee. This is what it's like to be on the wrong side of winning. I want everyone to bathe in this feeling, see how bad it tastes and feels. It will make you never want it again."

Hildago paused his speech and handed out posters. On them read "Everyone needs haters. If you don't have haters, you're not doing anything."

"No one gave two ***** about us when we first formed. Now that we almost bounced the mighty Phillies and their Bryce Harper and all that, people will be coming in here trying to tell us why we failed. Every time we take a step back, we'll get the 'see? they aren't good enough."

"They will come to Yoshi [Tsutsugo] and say 'why didn't you hit any homers in the last game?' They will come to Reese [McGuire] and say 'you left 5 men on base, do you think you lead with your play on the field?' They will come up to Chris [Flexen] and say 'you really sucked, did you feel the big game pressure?' because he gave up 8 runs in 2 innings."

"And I want you feel it. I want you to get used to it, now. So that when, when, not if, we get more notice, these questions will come up. So when, when, not if, you got 0-for-4 with 3 Ks and 7 men left on base in a 4-3 loss in Game 5 of the NLDS, you'll know how to handle yourself."

"This sucks, but we can't lose sight. We are a motley bunch of second year nobodies that nearly struck gold. That's something. That's a lot. See all those fans every home game now? They are there for you. You all brought them to the park. Let's keep growing. Let's keep getting better. Let's keep hanging together. It was, ultimately, a positive season and this ending will be positive , too, in building our character. Have a good winter. See you next spring, boys, " Hildago then met with each player as they packed up for the year.

The Foxes indeed will have something to build on, and indeed, more pressure. Everyone in the organization will have to prepare for the push up into winning baseball and, hopefully, playoff baseball.

The hard part has just begun.

How do you guys understand everything so smoothly. I've put in a little bit of playing time on '19 but could just never get the hang of everything. So many options and such to learn. Any tips for beginners? I'm huge into franchise simulation and know this is good, I'm just not getting everything or really even knowing where to start with a team.

A lot of it is that a lot of us have just played for years so it gets to be a little second nature.

A good place to start to get to know your team:

Team Home Page - shows you about the current season your standings, your minors system, how your top prospects are doing.

Meet The Team - shows your organizational strengths and weakness, your finances, your top players and prospects.

Team Chemistry - shows you the personality dynamic of the team and who's providing what influence, both positive and negative. Any issues players have will be listed here as well if there's something specific really grinding their gears. Varies how much weight people put here - a lot like real life. But it's there if you want to consider it.

Front Office -> Player Development - shows you your entire farm, who's ranked where both by position and if anyone is on BNN's Top 200 list.

These places give you a nice overview of where you stand. You can get an idea of what you want to change.

If you're thinking more player evaluation - that gets into a lot of gray area. There's some general "nice ideas to consider" but there's as many ways is there are people - a lot like the real game, there, winning teams come in all shapes and sizes.

I guess I'm saying, the screens above to know what you've got, and then let us know some systems or whatnot you want some tips for - be easier, at least for me, to focus down and give something that won't leave you even more confused lol

                            Bobby Witt, Jr. Progressing Well
The Foxhole - Farm Report of the Foxes

Here's a few prospects that bear watching out of the Foxes' farm system.

The next report will be around February as the Foxes gear up for spring action.

                            SS/SP Bobby Witt, Jr.

A prized prospect, Bobby Witt, Jr. continues impress at the plate. His notable exit velocity is starting to translate into improving batting averages, coming alive in the second half with the Night Hawks in High-A and in the handful of games before the season ended at AA-Leon Valley.

There is some interest in bringing him to the majors next season, with supporters citing Royce Lewis as an example of why it might work for Witt. The issue there is Royce didn't exactly tear things up, showing some signs of being overmatched. While he did produce a respectable season, largely due to his rapid learning of center field, it's not a ringing endorsement of the argument to fast track the potential two-way threat.

Speaking of Bobby's two-way potential, on first glance, it looks like the mound will be nothing more than a curiosity for blowouts. However, scouts report improving sink on his pitches. It could be a sign that's coming around as well.

And we must remember that Bobby is only 20. One more year moving from AA to AAA to maybe a September call up won't kill him.

                            SS/CF Royce Lewis

For the praise Royce Lewis gets, one would expect more consensus around him. However, scouts are divided on his ability, at least currently, as a hitter. Some point to his sound habits at the plate and improved power in the dog days last season as signs a breakout is near. Others point to the inconsistent batting average and a not very exciting on-base percentage and think there's more work needed.

There is also this weird idea that he will only be capable vs LHP. While he performed better against southpaws, it was only 105 plate appearances. It bears watching but too soon to tell and he shows no differences in his swing in games against lefties versus right-handers.

                            SP Jorge Rodriguez

Picked up in a trade with the Red Sox last season, Jorge Rodriguez isn't the most skilled arm in the system, but he bears watching.

For one, his future value grades just a tick below average, so if he can clean up his game a bit, he's on track for a look at the rotation perhaps as early as next year as the Foxes rotation is certainly written in pencil at this point. On top of that, he's not far off from the arms that's currently at the bigs right now, so Jorge should keep working for his chance.

The other positive is that he has a very deceptive change-up, especially when he has his fastball working. It's not often for a youngster to have such an advanced off-speed pitch. If he can add some velo on his fastball, or refine a curve that has flashed plus at times, he could very well be fast tracked in this system.

Of course, therein lies the risk. Jorge's future value represents the risk that he won't develop that curve and his fastball either remains in the high 80's or otherwise continues to betray his change-up. The velocity isn't necessarily the biggest issue. If he can locate if for strikes, hitters will still have to honor it, letting him drop his high 70's change or low 70's curve for the change of pace offering. There's also that screwball he's dabbled with. Right now, just a show-me wrinkle to throw, but every bit helps for a finesse arm.

But he needs to get consistency with his spin rate and bite on his offerings. That's the large issue for Jorge in my book.

The Foxhole - Gearing Up for Spring Training

Some prospects got invites to the spring roster. What chances do they have to win a spot on the Opening Day roster? Let's take a look.

                                SS/SP Bobby Witt, Jr.

No surprise that Bobby got a call to play in spring training, and expect him to get a healthy amount of playing time. While I don't think he'll make it, yet, to the major league roster, there's a couple reasons to expect to see a lot of him this spring. For one, scouts will get a better, more focused look at him, and two, it's a chance to see if he can go ahead and jump to AAA.

Of course, there's not exactly a lot of established talent at shortstop. Witt, versus Breyvic Valera is almost neck-and-neck on paper. Both, right now, look like the same .250 + some walks and occasional power type of hitter. Witt's has a canon for an arm. Valera makes far more contact at the plate. Those are the differences at the moment. I do think the Foxes will continue to be patient since it is so close. Might as well go with Valera.

                                SP Logan Allen

Logan got a bit of time last season as an injury replacement, throwing 13 starts with a nearly-6.00 ERA. While that would seem to knock him out of the running, the bottom of the Foxes rotation is an open casting call at this point, with the top only slightly more settled. Slightly.

Logan works hard, but he works hard to be average it seems. He'll get his shot, but I think he'll have a hard time holding his spot.

                                SP Ryne Nelson

Ryne is an interesting story. He worked in the Pirates minors in 2019 but was released and then picked up by an independent league. He worked the balance of the 2019 season and start of 2020's season for the Windy City Thunderbolts before the Foxes purchased his rights last May. He struggled badly at the High-A level, but scouts think he's picking up some things through all this turmoil and adversity. He's a flame thrower, topping out at 98 on the gun. Ryne was given a spring invite and has as good a shot as any, honestly.

                                SP Domingo Robles

One of the bevy of finesse arms in the system, Domingo has risen up to AAA despite looking pretty much like all the others. In fact, he looks a lot like Yonny Chirinos. Whether that's good or bad is anyone's guess, but Chirinos has thrown nearly 300 innings in the last two seasons. Between him and Jorge Rodriguez - these two might have the best chance at landing in the rotation, especially if they have a solid spring.

                                SP Jorge Rodriguez

Speaking of Jorge, he's back in our report as his dark horse story continues on. Jorge's caught the eyes of scouts and they are slowly, but steadily, increasing their evaluations of him. That should give this crafty southpaw a very nice chance to impress and win himself a spot in the rotation. He is probably the most well-rounded and advanced in terms of his stuff of all the hopefuls, perhaps that's why the scouts are grading as they are.

                                RP Demarcus Evans

If anyone is coming into spring camp with pressure, it's Demarcus Evans. He was selected out of the 2019 expansion draft...and has disappointed ever since. His power arm and nasty curveball should be confounding hitters regularly, but it's not worked out for whatever reason. Should he falter again, the Foxes might see if another club will take a chance on him and try again with whatever young prospect they can get back.

                                IF Katsuya Seno

Another former indy leaguer, this time from Japan's Baseball Challenge League, Seno's had a rough time of things lately. He missed the entire 2019 season due to first a fractured thumb and then a concussion that took at least eight months to recover from. He returned to the field in 2020 and showed surprising power in Eastern League action. Scouts aren't so sure that wasn't just a flash in the pan, but they will be interested in seeing what Seno puts on tape and how he looks to the eyes this spring.

                                1B Luis Frausto

Good news for Luis: He's going to get some chances to showcase his skills in front of major league scouts.

Bad new for Luis: He has almost no chance to land on the roster.

This is the wrong team to have first base as your only position. Ronald Guzman, if he didn't cement himself already, has written his name on the first base bag with a fat, black, Sharpee after last season's performance. The best thing Luis can hope for is that he shows well and he can be traded to a team that either needs a first baseman or a DH-in-progress.

                                RP James Karnichak

I don't know if James is a prospect, per se, as he's 25. But he was taken out of the Rule 5 draft, so he's going to be around and getting a lot of action this spring.

There's a few things we know about James. He throws incredibly hard, increasing his velocity to triple digits. He's also incredibly wild, walking north of ten batters per nine innings...at AA. He also has a ridiculous curveball. If he throws strikes, he's unfair. If he doesn't it's unfairly easy to get on base against him.

While this would seem to be a "because we can and it costs us nothing" Rule 5 pick, there's someone else on this team that has similar scouting grades...some wild, hard throwing reliever named Carl Edwards, Jr.
