    OOTP Perfect Team question

This is my first time doing OOTP in 3 years, I think. So it's my first time for Perfect Team.

Starting with a brand new team...would I be further ahead by just putting my money into regular packs and just getting more players for now, or should I save up and go for gold packs.

Just started today, so I know I'm a bit behind others.

Same here I give money to ootp every few years just because I know they do a good job although I've never got through one season so it's been a year or two since last purchase.

I've so far in perfect team only spend $14 I had in my dream wallet. I opened starter pack and from there I've played a rookie season and currently in an iron league in first place in division. I've not bought any packs with my earned perfect points, I basically go into auction and been upgrading my worse positions/stats through the auction market player by player.

This mainly meant upgrading my pitching staff and finding guys in the 80s that we're 3-4k pp . Again I have little experience but seems like you gain enough perfect points through season to either build up or save for a few really great players that can carry the lower leagues

I went your route...after spending a few thousand PP on packs, I had 650 left and just went into the auction house. Improved my base team to now have all bronze, silver or gold players. Was able to nab 4 bronze and 2 silver with my 650.

Never buy gold packs. You get the same odds at Diamond and Perfect cards in either pack, and a lot of bronze/silver cards can be just as good or better than golds!

You get 5x the chance at Diamond or better with 5 normal packs opposed to one gold pack

That's definitely one school of thought, and I don't totally disagree, but it isn't that black and white (at least to me). In a gold pack, I am guaranteed a gold player. In a standard pack, there is only a 1 in 50 shot at that.
