Steam vs. direct download
Is there any reason I would use Steam over just downloading from the website? Not seeing any benefit.Tags: None -

Re: Steam vs. direct download
I'm not that familiar with Steam, but if I purchased the game on Steam would that allow me to play it on any machine on which I am logged into Steam? Including PC and Mac? Rather than buying separate versions?Comment

Re: Steam vs. direct download
I know most people are shouting Steam (because that's how they found it), but as someone who purchased both I'd say direct download is vastly better. Much more portable, doesn't have any other points of failure, can play at work...Comment

Re: Steam vs. direct download
Nevertheless, there are some benefits of buying video games through Steam vs direct downloads. Browsing Steam you have access to the largest game library of AAA games, you have a friends list there. It is very convenient to have all your games in one spot. If you buy each game individually from the developers you will have a scattered library, it is like putting the books all over your house instead of on a bookshelf. But there's always an error or a bug that make me frustrated about steam. And Steam has one of the strictest policies, especially when it comes to withdrawing money. So I'm using 3rd party websites like trade url steam just to get what's mineComment

To stand out among the millions of games available on online or mobile platforms, developers must find a way to stand out by providing an exceptional gaming experience that sets them apart from the competition.WhyComment
