    If ASB 2004 has...

the same engine it has had the past 2 years i'm not buying it. I thought it has been horrible and doesnt even have a true baseball atmosphere to it. I bought ASB 2003 first, then i bought HRKings and found out what a real baseball can be like. HRKings was a solid game, and didnt go to a cut scene for every HR. HRKings did more with less, and ASB did less with more, it's that simple. It's a shame that HRKings wont be coming out this year, but i have high hopes for WSB.

I'm going to have to disagree. I thought ASB 2003 had one of the best engines in a baseball game to date. The graphics were tight, (stadiums especially) and the animations were great as well. I still have high hopes for ASB 2004. If they can tweak the gameplay a bit and speed up the game (It takes a good 40-45 minutes on average to complete a game.) the game could be all that.

I agrre ASB was a good game. If the tweak a few things AND most importantly fix the sometimes shoddy colclision detection..I will be very happy.

I'm with you Vinsanity and Skyboxer. The game was awesome to play and the eye candy was great too. A few tweaks and fine tuning and it's going to be another great year of All Star Baseball.

          ASB was fine for me...

But I am a roster freak.

Not being able to manage the rosters over the course of the season killed it for me

Also, the Yanks trading Giambi on 3 Apr in Franchise!!

          OUCH!

          Hope they fix it!

I can't put my finger on it, but I always had this nagging feeling that something wasn't "quite right" about the visuals in ASB. Maybe it seemed cartoony or something, I really can't say for sure....

Though I think the game has a lot of potential, as do all of the baseball games from this year (except for TP). Next year should be great!

The stadiums were not that good. The Manager mode was cool until the scores ended up 20-13. ASB was not that good. I am counting on sega.

The stadiums weren't that good, compared to what? High Heat? Triple Play? WSB? I disagree... the stadiums were very accurate in ASB, with collision on everything from the tarps to the bullpen mounds. They had animated guys on the bench, all of the little features like waterfalls and fountains, and a pretty decent crowd. The old stadiums like the Polo Grounds were done perfectly... hell, you can even run up the steps in dead center there.

A few gameplay tweaks, some additions like passed balls, and ASB will be great. I thought it was great last year, and I can't wait to see what they add for this next release.

The collision mapping was great. Graphically, it wasn't that good. Everything seemed to have a...cartoony look to it. It seemed like the game didn't make use of colors and shading as well as WSB did. Combine the two, and it'd be great.

Yeah it has a darkish tint too. This is really mionor but I agree the color is not optimal.

i loved asb2003, and while all the things mentioned in this thread are true, of all the things i hope they fix, i hope the fix the problem where for the most part, nothing went to right field, making it pointless to have a gun like ichiro or mondesi in right.
itd also be nice to make the baserunning a little more simplified.
