    ASB 2004 TRAILER!!!

and some new screenshots to boot!

    Click me.

Looks like ASB 2003 to me. Which isn't a bad thing. Let's just hope they fixed some of the gameplay flaws.

    Sigh.

Though it had gameplay flaws, I really enjoyed much of the presentation aspects of Home Run Kings, such as photorealistic uniforms, bright colors, etc.

To me, ASB looks identical. Colors aren't bright and uniforms look more like texture maps than photographs, it that makes sense.

In addition, that trailer still shows instances of the ball skipping frames of animation just to align itself with fielder's gloves.

I enjoyed 2003, but am very dissapointed to see 2004 looking so similar...

I watched the ASB2003 trailer a bunch last year, and I think some of that footage is from that. I know I recognize some of those plays, and the song is definitely the same.

I think they put new stuff in with old.

PS- those screens are captured from the trailer...

The game looks tight although I might pass on this one.

I'm waiting to see how Inside pitch and High Heat 2004 look on XB.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

I'm positive alot of that is from ASB2003... if you go to the Acclaim site, they've still got the ASB2003 webpage up. The trailer on there has alot of the same shots.

Someone at IGN made a boo boo.

What a bunch of lazy bastards. Taking screenshots from the so called trailer. I too think they made a boo boo on the trailer.

It is most certainly last year. The majority of the clips feature free agents or players who were traded last off season in their "new" duds.

Weaver is shown in a Tigers uniform.

The All Star game is shown in Mil.

Man, if I were in Acclaims PR Dept., I would be pissed off.

Yeah, I can't imagine that they'd send that out.... I wonder if IGN goes scouring game company websites looking for updates and then posts whatever they find. You'd think they would need permission first.

                      Re: ASB 2004 TRAILER!!!

This does not bode well. Either IGN made a boo-boo or Accliam is hiding something. I don't think IGN would have made this big of a mistake since all the screens/movies have to be approved by Accliam.Possibly all we will be getting with ASB2004 will be ASB2003 with new rosters and same gameplay flaws.

But it looks more like a pre-emptive strike from Accliam to counter the High Heat 2004 screens/movies that came out just recently. If that's the case, too bad Accliam didn't have anything from ASB2004 to show, even 1 or 2 screenshots would have been nice. At least something to tell us 'hey, look, we've been working on the game to improve it'. We shall know more in the months ahead if any improvements/fixes were made to the ASB series.

                        Re: ASB 2004 TRAILER!!!

A pre-emptive strike? How does one predict when another company is going to release screenshots or movies? I'm pretty sure that the companies don't communicate with one another, releasing a screenshot schedule or movie update list.

There've been plenty o' screens showing that Acclaim is improving upon ASB2003... did you see the ones of the sandlot and school baseball diamond? They look awesome, in my opinion.

Who knows why IGN posted an ASB2003 movie and low rez screenshots taken from that same 320x240 movie? It's pretty obvious after the way they creamed their jeans over the new High Heat screens which game they are rooting for. Boo boo, or conspiracy? Hmmmmmmm......

wow....I hope that is from 2003 because the batting animations still look like hammered dog crap.

The biggest problem I had with last years game is that the batter magically hits the ball after it is in the catchers glove...they need to improve on this greatly.

If they fix that and improve their batter/pitcher interface and some fielding issues it has the potential to be an incredible game of baseball.....I hope they can pull it off.
                          teaching.............still fun

video games........I wish my boys would let me play

watching Tottenham vs. Liverpool at White Hart Lane............2004 was a long time ago

ASB had the most realistic batting motions of any game last year.

I 'd rather see more walks, animations like looking at 1rst and throwing to 3rd, not every throw from the outfield, passed ball, and wild pitches, etc, etc fixed than go gawgaw over ballfields with school buses and cornfields.
