NOT! thats to freakin early. Thier rosters will look like sh!t. I saw it was schedules for release in april which seems reasonable. I wish it came that early but no baseball game ever came that early.

I know you did'nt make it up but every site has a diffrent release date. Some say Feb, other march, some april. i've been looking around also. I was saying that i highly doubt it would be january. spring training would'nt even have started and the rosters would be from last years. If it was jan, that means the game is completed and they would already be pressing and shipping copies.

I'm pretty sure it will be pushed back. Btw, will the PS2 version have online play?

i hope they fix that icon batting thing.. it was maybe a bit too hard to make contact.. the cursor should be bigger... but have less places to where if you make contact it will actually be a hit.. i mean their were not enuf foul balls.. and almost whenever you hit the ball into play it was a base hit.

              Re: ASB04 for the PS2

i actually think the hitting was too easy.

sure i struck out like 10 times a game, but hitting a homerun was basically automatic. I got to the point where I stopped using the Power swing. But then after a few games, hitting a homerun with regular contact became too easy.

I feel that I have too much control in where i put the ball. If I wanna pull the ball, i just move my cursor and wallah! i pulled a base hit. If i wanted a grounder, i just dipped the cursor and blamo! a grounder through the hole.

I'm all for bein able to direct our hits, but there should be more of a punishment for doing so. If a pitch is outside and i try to pull it, i should either foul it away, miss the ball entirely, or just hit a soft grounder for an easy out.

IMO, random hitting is much better. That's the reason we have ratings. Our job should be to make contact, after that the rest should be decided on where the ball was thrown, how early/late we swang, and then ratings.

If this is true, with the PS2 now online, you'll be able to DL the start of the year rosters. We'll see.

The one thing I didnt like about ASB 2003 is how long it took to play a game. I hope Acclaim Sports speeds up the game. I dont want to spend 45 minutes to an hour playing a game. Fly balls and fouls took for ever to come down. They should speed this up a bit.

                    yankee

it was WAY too easy to hit.. but thats not what i was saying.

i meant easier to make CONTACT.. basically it was too easy to strike out in the game.. cuz you couldnt foul balls off.. so in making contact i mean you could foul more balls off but they would be like off the bat or something and would go foul

it definately needs to be harder to hit.. way less power

my idea is like imagine the icon.. make it smaller but add a circle around itthats much much bigger.. like the size of the easiest levels cursor... but if it hits that large circle depeding on where it is you just make contact and foul it off or maybe you just hit a lil sqibber to the pitcher. but if you h hit the heart of that icon you can jack it into the gap or something..

                    see what i mean?

I understand what you mean now.

That would be a lot better. Baseball games need to do somethin like that. Seems like the icon is the sweet spot and nothing else. Having an invisible circle (or even visible one) would be a nice addition to eliminate strikeouts, increase foul balls, and possibly even increase walks.

The problem with is that it makes the game longer. Someone above me just said that the games take too long. Its tough, b/c the more realism you want, the longer a game is gonna take.

I remember ASB2002 took about an hour, hour and a half to play a game. I can usually fit a game of ASB2003 in under 40 minutes, sometimes even a half hour.... depends on who I've pitching and who I am facing.

I personally don't want to play a game of baseball in under 30 minutes... there's something wrong with that.

those games flew by fer me.. so i wouldnt mind it being a little longer if it was more realistic.

Did I not read on an earlier post that "in game saves" would be available? Hopefully on all platforms. This is one option that should be on ALL games period. I don't know how many times I had a game end up going extra innings, the clock heading for midnite with a wake up call for 5 am,and I gotta finish the damn game, because I can't save the prick and pick up the next day. I'm sure I'm not the only one that had that problem.

In games save would be great. It would also be nice to have that option in an online XBL game.
