Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
Thank you Steve. Here are my questions.
1) Ask him what role he had in developing the game.
1) Has the game been tweaked to speed up the play. Last year it took a good 40-45 minutes on avg to finish a game.
2) What new animations, if any, have been added to this years version?
3) Has the franchise mode been tweaked/upgraded? If so, what new features/options will we see in this years franchise mode?
4) Last year in Franchise/Expansion mode we were stuck with the same schedule every year. Have you added random schedules at the end of each season in franchise mode?
5) Are there any new cut-scenes in the game after a big play or between innings for example. This was lacking in last years game IMO.
6) Tell us about the new menu interface. How will it work? What new features/options will we see?
7) Last year the outfielders were to quick to field a ball. Has this been tweaked to make it more realistic?
8) In last years game you would have to wait until the end of the season to look at the all time leaders for example and other stats. Has this been added during the season, so one is able to view them at will?
9) Tell us about the online play in the game?
11) Will we have have the ability to download updated rosters?
12) Multi Player trades? 2 for 1, 3 for 1 etc.
13) View stats of each player over seasons in franchise mode. Instead of career stats have the ability to view stats from every season played.
14) Are there going to be any gameplay sliders in the game? Adjust pitching ability of opponent for example.
15) Walks were an issue last year. The computer would hardly walk a batter. Has this been tweaked?
16) In the American League last year the computer opponent would never sacrifice a player using the bunt. In the National League this would be the case, but only with the pitchers sacrificing the bunt. Has this been fixed?
17) Has a behind the pitcher view been added in this years game?
18) Has the stike zone been tweaked? Too many strikes called in last year's game.
More to come...Comment

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
Will there be odd-numbered trades? 2 for 1, 3 for 1?
Has the create-a-player been improved at all?
Will you be able to trade players amongst teams that you don't control, to make the rosters accurate?
Any way to see player ratings, and if so, will you be able to edit those ratings?
Are there sliders for tweaking gameplay this year?
With all the news about arbitration lately (c'mon Maddux, accept the Braves' offer!), will ASB have any kind of player arbitration in the franchise mode?

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
Will you be able to change teams as a user in franchise?
Will you be able to draft players as in WSB last year?
Will it incorporate different managerial styles?
Will there be better CPU baserunning?
Will speed rating affect running to first, it seems only WSB accomplished this last year?

Will you ba able to have multiple face types for created players? It makes little sense to have several color combos of accessories but the same face everytime.
Will there be better homerun animations? I dont want it to be overdone like Triple Play but Id like to see the flight of the ball to all fields and some distances might also be nice.Comment

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
1. Has the fielding control been improved?
2. What changes to baserunning were made?
3. Is the infield dive animation quicker this year?
4. Will the fielder go to the default "squat" position after making a play?
5. Is it harder to steal this year? In ASB 2003, if the pitcher didn't slide step, anyone could steal.
ThanksComment

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
Has the pitcher's stamina been tweaked a little for games when you play against the CPU? Last year, I could have starting pitchers go 9 innings, only against another human player. The starters would only be able to go about 7 innings against the CPU which messed me up when I had a no hitter or shut-out going.Comment

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
Are we finally going to have minor leaguers accumilate stats while in the minors, or is it just a holding area again?
Also, can you go into detail as much as possible with all aspects of the franchise mode?Comment

Re: All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview Questions
A few questions of my own:
What additions have been added to the gameplay? I've heard the gameplay is very similar to last years, so I'm curious to hear what is new about the gameplay.
How much improvement or additions were made to the franchise mode?
And, as asked earlier, how do the backgrounds relate to what is going on with the menus?
