I bought and downloaded last night, but haven't explored it yet. I played the 2005 version, though not exhaustively, and really enjoyed it. Solo play can get a little boring with these types of games, but I've found that PureSim's look and feel (and in-game PBP) keeps the game fresh and interesting even during solo play. This year, ball flight has apparently been added to make games even more fun to watch and manage. For an example of the in-game GUI: http://www.puresim.com/2k73.jpg.
More than anything, I feel like Shaun Sullivan's work is worth supporting. He's very responsive to his user community and the game has really made great strides from where it began. The game also has a very active community that does a nice job with ballpark graphics and facepack updates. I haven't compared it to any of the other baseball sims on the market, but the stat tracking for PureSim is very good as well.
For anyone looking for an alternative to OOTP, BBM, or DMB, PureSim is definitely worth a look. Despite my involvement with the OOTP league here, I'll still find enough time to play both games and I really like the direction that PureSim is heading.
http://www.puresim.com/ has a full feature list, for anyone interested.
