What has Microsoft do with High Heat's license?

Has anyone heard anything about what Microsoft will do with the High Heat license? With the so-so 2k series the only baseball game for both of the Xbox's, Microsoft is in a prime position to take over the Xbox baseball market if they can come out with a game with HH's realism and gameplay mechanics, coated with some awesome graphics. (Not that HH 2004 graphics isn't good, but some of the fielders' animations leave a little to be desired.)

I feel very fortunate for having a PS2, since MLB'06 The Show IMO is the most engaging baseball game since HH 2004. It's just my opinion.

I'm with you on The Show. Best baseball game out there, but it would be spectacular to see a new version of High Heat. Unfortunately, I think the issue is a dead one. .....but with The Show being so good and the next gen right around the corner....I can honestly say that I'm finally happy with baseball gaming again!

MK agree. The Show, I'm completely happy with. Hopefully only giant steps forward with next years game and they don't take giant steps backwards like Kush did.

I also agree that MLB the Show is the best game out there but Microsoft doesn't own the High Heat Liscense, 3D0 does I beleive. I am not sure if you guys remember but the 1st year Xbox was out they put out a 1st party baseball title called Inside Pitch. Not alot of people played it because it was not that great of a game but it showed promise but after 1 season Micrsoft pulled the plug on their 1st party sports titles including MLB Inside Pitch as well as NFL Fever and NBA Inside Drive. I actually went out and bought a ps2 just so I could play mlb the show as I was an avid xbox gamer. I am now awaiting the release of the ps3 as I have gone back to sony

3DO went bankrupt a long time ago. They sold off their assets and Microsoft bought the HH code from them.

My guess is Microsoft bought the HH code so that no one else would get it. They don't seem to have much interest in creating a game from it and since we haven't seen anything yet, I doubt we will.

The HH code would also need to be completely revamped for the 360. Chances are that what it was written in, won't even run on the 360.

At this point I thinik HH is long dead never to be recreated. Whatever code exists must be useless by now anyways and all the HH developers have been scattered across many companies so even if the code was useable, there is no guarantee a new team could do anything with it.
