Also, here is my dilemna. I have a very strict budget, enough for only one baseball game purchase (this is what happens when you spend lots of money for spring break trip
). I love the HH series tho, and with the improved graphics and finally the addition of a franchise mode I don't see how I can possibly go wrong with it. That said, there are still 4 other games coming out that show promise. But I don't want to wait to purchase HH just to see how the other games are, I love HH and once it is out I want it in my hands, even if the other games are not out yet to compare it to. Here is my take on the other games coming out, it helps warrant an early purchase of HH heh.ASB is a good game too, but HH's gameplay just appeals to me more. Sure ASB has a boatload of features this year but the gameplay will still be basically the same as last year...and I found the game slow and boring last year.
I have never played WSB, but my brother is buying that this year, so I'll get to play his whenever I want.
MLB looks ok, but it looks way too similar to the old PS One MLB games. From what I have seen in the movies, it is exactly the same, just with polished graphics. It doesn't even look like they used a new graphics engine, it looks to me like they took the PS One graphics and beefed them up for the PS2 game. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad. But I was never a huge fan of the MLB series to begin with. And by the looks of it it hasn't changed too much. At most I would rent this game.
I guess that leaves MVP. It looks really promising, but I just don't think EA can pull off a worst-to-first type deal in a single year. Plus it is the last game out on the market, I don't want to wait an extra month just to purchase MVP...I need my baseball fix now and it just so happens that what will most likely be the best and most authentic game out this year, is also the first game out. So get aI great baseball game early. Can't beat that.
