    Consolesports.net MLB Power Pros Impressions

Guys, I expected an arcade slugfest that I'd brush off in no time.

That's not what I got. Wow.. Baseball fans- and that includes the hardcores- owe it to themselves to try this game once.

Nice writeup. I expect it will take some time before a full review gets posted, there's a ton of stuff to dig through.

Yea, and the big review sites will have to realize the game is out too.

Who cares? The reviews would dismiss it right away anyway. The game is amazing, any baseball fan owes it to themselves to play, possibly the best baseball game of 2007.

The deeper I go into this game, the more I realize it probably is the most complete baseball game I have ever put into any system. Since I am on vacation, and my wife is out of town, I have been playing this non-stop( except to watch my Cubs Lose ) I am no way tired or bored of this game. It just gets better and better and I even find myself having a little fun with the "Success" mode

The HR derby and following the ball is a blast , I've hit on the rooftops of Wrigley, the parking garage across Fenway, The Cove splash at AT&T etc etc...

The lack of reviews is 2K's fault. They should have sent advance review copies weeks ago, which gets back to my biggest gripe. 2K is publishing, but they're trying to keep it under the radar as to not distract from it's own title.

The "Madden of Japan" is very fitting. This game is INSANELY deep, and it's ratings/attributes system is something a single eastern developer hasn't even tried in their baseball games.

In fact, Madden's 'weapon' system seems to be lifted from PawaPuro.

Konami has been doing this a lot b4 EA.

and as a long time person who has ridiculed Madden series, i am offended that those 2 games are even mentioned in the same sentence :P

btw, don't want to start another madden debate. my bad. no offense hehe

My use of the reference of MLB PPB being "The Madden of Japan" was in terms of sales, sales hype, and anticipation of the masses.

It was no statement about Konami's playtesting.

I agree. I haven't picked up the game yet because I was waiting on some reviews. But after reading all the posts here at OS, there is really no reason to doubt the greatness of this game. I'd almost rather hear opinions of regular gamers over the opinions of big sites anyway. They seem to be more realistic.

After all these impressions and people really enjoying the heck out of this game, I'm going to pick this up tonight. Thanks to everyone for your impressions.
