Power Pros: i don't know what the hell i'm doing in practice mode

in my season i have the pitchers i want practicing. i have some guys in batting practice. some guys running, other guys practicing their techniques. now what? do i leave them to practice the same things for weeks or what. what about the 'rest' option? and the meter's beside their names? whats that about? the manual doesnt go that much into detail. great game by the way. i've been playing this game the whole friggin day.

I haven't played enough of the mode to give you any definitive answers, maybe BigManZam can help here? Zam, I'm pretty sure this is similar to MyLife mode in earlier Pawapuro games in terms of choosing training for your character there, and when I played that I was mostly faking it since my Japanese skills are practically non-existant.

Not sure which meters you refer to, but when training a particular stat there's an experience meter that shows how much progress you need to up the stat to the next full grade level (i.e. D -> C).

Do skills decline if you don't train?

Going by a similar screen in the MyLife mode of past Japanese games, I believe training in anything will boost whatever stat(s) you're working on while keeping the others the same, and resting will have all skills decline very slowly. I'll need to verify later.

thanks. yea, those are the meters. now i think i should rest some pitchers because all of a sudden, my pitching rotation is all out of wack. i must be overtraining them. i need to find out how fatigued they are, but i dont know how to inbetween games.

Dig around the menus...maybe it's on the Experience submenu?

Anyone know the logic the game uses when it comes to setting up groups?

Is there a leadership ability in this game?

I put Nieves with Posada to work on hitting together and Nieves is listed as the veteran leader which is beyond odd. I put Cabrera and Damon together and Damon is the veteran leader - perfectly fine.

But, how do I know if two guys like working together or if a certain player would be good to have in a group? Is it just something I have to figure out on my own as I see the benefits or downfalls of certain groups?

Not sure about your last questions regarding chemistry, but as for setting up groups the SECOND person you select will become the veteran leader. You selected Posada and then chose Nieves second when you grouped them, yes? Do it the other way around.

Thanks. I figured out the leadership deal while I messed around with groups.

I see that the girl at the Front Office offers little tidbits that aren't in the manual.

Now I see one of the benefits of building friendships. Put both friends together in a technique group and it might become easier to learn abilities from one another. That's a really cool feature.
