Official Over-write this player for this one AND team-by-team re-edits Thread

Because you can't add players to teams without going through success mode, the only other way that is much faster is to rename and then re-edit them. Ie..Change Yankees Proctor for Joba Chamberlain, etc

This is a good thread for the guys that want to swap players that way AND for anyone who has already changed the teams (re-edits) to tell others what players need to be upgraded/downgraded and in what areas.

Well for my yankess edits, I made proctor into Jaba, Myers into E.Ramirez, and Pavano into Hughes. Not sure what to do for Kennedy yet.

On the Sox you can do either J.C. or Joel into Buchholz.

On the Brewers I made weeks into Byran.

The only problem with doing this, when you start a season, the players age, career stats, and salary are based on the person you orginal edited

Isn't the main problem with the overwriting strategy that you don't alter all the other info for a person? Their career numbers, bio info (place of birth, age, birthday), possibly things like their default salary, etc? Might screw things up if you do a Player Search while in Season Mode.

Do people really not want to go through the trouble of creating Arrange Teams to set everything up properly?

Correct, thats the biggest problem I see now. I do not have enough points to tinker with the arranged team yet.

Is there confirmation that you can use ALL THE ARRANGED TEAMS in a SEASON MODE? Like pick your team, and then let the CPU control the other ARRANGE TEAMS you enter.

The only thing I know is what you told me, in the shop you can buy the arrange team season thing for 100,000 which is a hella lot of points. But is that one team or all teams??

Well you have to get 100,000 points, then you buy the feature in the shop.

But who knows if they let you use all the arrange teams for a complete season with all the lineups you created for all teams.

Plus all the time it will take to get 100,000 pts.

Or all the time it will take to edit all the players through MY DATA.

Your screwed time wise either way.

I'm still confused about the whole 'My Data' thing. i.e. it says "player transactions" but my understanding is that you can't trade players here.

I would assume you could if you use "create league".

Creatue league only gives you the 6-8 team league or whatever.

MY DATA doesn't really let you do transactions. Most people like myself have been using it to overwrite guys to guys who should be in that starters slot.

Why are guys making Chamberlain 30 years old and Hughes 31, is there no one younger on the Yankees roster that we can overwrite? How about overwriting Karstens and Henn since neither made the playoff roster?
