Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
Same here, but there's already a thread started with some folks talking about their settings. There's so many different settings that it will probably take awhile to find some good ones. Starting to really dig this game though. -
Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
Do you know the differences between "normal" hitting and the "lock" hitting?
Also, do you play with the ball cursor on in the field (so it shows where the ball is going to land?)
One more question, is there an option so there's no ball cursor when batting?Comment

Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
Go into practice mode and experiment with the five levels of lock-on hitting. The higher the number the more the cursor will try to center itself on the ball when you swing and put good wood on it. At five it pretty much gives you very solid contact everywhere in the cursor. At one you get an ever so slight boost on balls in the very middle of the cursor. If you fiddle with it enough in practice mode you'll get a good idea of how much you should be using. Anything more than two and it seems to really cut into hit variety just because everything is hit relatively hard. I'm using "1" right now.Comment

I know there's the cursor when the ball has been pitched, does everyone play with that on? Is it even an option to turn it off? I know that it would probably be impossible to bat without that little ball icon floating around, but just wondering.Comment

You still hitting balls solid on 1? So does "normal" mean there's no adjustment when you swing?

There are definitely different ways of approaching hitting in this game and that's just what it working for me. I find the tiny contact boost really comes in handy when I'm trying to fight off harder throwers. Oh, I use digital batting too. The analog was just too wobbly for my liking.
Everything I've seen about batting without the ball cursor on has mentioned just how tough it is to hit because of how sensitive the batting cursor is in terms of contact. I haven't even tried more than a couple of hacks.Comment

Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
I still hit some balls solidly on 1. I'm probably averaging 4-5 runs per game with lock-on 1 and the AI pitching at All-Star level. I've had some games recently where I've been shut out and others where I've put up 7-8 runs.

Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
There seems to be somewhat of a consensus on AI pitching at All-Star and Hum batting at Lock-1.
Think that's what I will give a tryComment

Re: Difficulty settings for power pros
I use AI pithcing on powerful and Hum batting at Lock-1. I also turn the AI pitcing cursor off. The last 3 games I played were:
Red Sox(me) 7 Yankees(cpu) 6
Red Sox 2 Yankees 3
Red Sox 7 Devil Rays 1
I am currently 10-8 in my season. I suck at fielding.Comment
