MLB Power Pros: Doug Mientkiewicz out with a head injury

In a 1-0 victory over Toronto, some interesting highlights
throughout this game. I struck out on a 3rd strike foul tip.
Took a line drive hit right off my pitcher's shoulder, and
in the 5th inning, Mientkiewicz caught a ball near the
1st base wall and he carried through head-first into
that very wall. The animation showed him out-cold and I
had to pick a replacement to play the rest of the game.

    Sheer brilliance

    NICE!!!

I too love this game more than ANY other baseball game since the original X-BOX first punched out the only All Star Baseball title with the expansion mode!! Actually, in my opinion, this game is far better, deeper and way more fun to play....THIS GAME HAS THE BEST STAT KEEPING OF ANY BASEBALL VIDEO GAME EVER MADE@@

I had a foul tip strikeout the other game that made me smile big time!

Great to know that you had an injury in the game. Anybody have anybody miss games because of an injury?

I have yet to start a season, frankly I am getting lost in exhibitions and practice modes. I was amazed how the injury
occured. It was a foul ball so I had to dive to catch it.
I am surprised Mientkiewicz held onto to it but the dive
led me right into the wall. If it occured during a season
I wonder how long Mientkiewicz would have been out for.

Despite the game's basic character models, it features some
of the best gameplay and surprises that I have ever seen in
      a sports video game.

Coco Crisp once left a game I played after fouling a pitch off his foot. I was estatic - even called my wife into the room to see it.

I have NEVER seen that in a video game before. As for my wife? She wasn't that impressed.

Scott Podsenik dove head first into the left field wall in one of my games, didn't get up for a while, and is now out 31 days with a broken collar-bone. I should be annoyed I lost him, but the game is so good I forgave it.
