    Here are roster editing instructions.

Okay, even when you've finally enabled the option to use Arrange Mode teams in Season Mode, it is still really confusing (for me) to fill in missing players, etc. There is at least one wrong way to go about it, so if you are curious here's the correct route. (By the way, good luck if you plan to update the entire league's rosters. It is an incredibly slow process in this game.)

Unless you played through Success Mode to create a new guy, you gotta find an existing player that you don't mind overwriting. (Side note: I don't know how editable Success Mode guys are.) Don't worry, this is all easy to undo.

To add players that don't exist (in this order):

    1) Go into Arrange Mode and use the Search tool. Just find any AAA person that matches the age of the person you want to replace. Appearance and attributes don't matter, since age is the only thing (I think) that you can't change later. Once you have your replacement people picked out, write down their names and teams. Do nothing else just yet; just exit without saving. (If you don't care about age, you can skip this step.)

    2) Go into My Data and choose the option to edit players. Pick out the people you found earlier, and edit their attributes to your liking. This is the only place you can edit all this stuff. Other places (Arrange Mode and Season Mode) let you edit the names and announcer voices, but that's it. When you save your changes you'll notice the player name bubbles now have two colors instead of one. (The announcer voice choices are pretty lame, since you have to pick a name even if it's wrong; I wish you could have it say their number.)

    3) Go into Arrange Mode and move all your edited players to the teams you want.

    4) Start a new Season Mode and select your Arrange Mode teams. Attribute changes don't migrate into your Season after it has started, so make sure are done with all your editing first.

I know the whole process sounds obvious, but I wasted a lot of time tonight getting it wrong.

Player career stats will be screwed up on the players you overwrote, but that may not matter to some people.
