By getting hit by a pitch.........There is no throw outs in this game so you can move your player to get hit and get credit for a walk all you want.

I was credited 6 walks since I made the CPU hit my players a lot.

Just a tip.....

when the CPU hits ur batter, have u seen a player get hurt?

does it effect ur smiley face, making it go up or down, in any way?

it's a shame u can't really hit them when ur pitching, and i've tried :P
would have loved to see if my pitcher gets thrown out after 2-3 hit batters in a row

You can hit the batter when your pitching....I just hit a batter as I'm typing this....you have to use a a breaking ball moving inside to hit.

I haven't seen any player get injured while getting hit so I can't answer that.

Nope you don't get thrown out....I just hit 4 in a row. In fact, the CPU move back to avoid getting hit after some time so the method don't last long.

One of the guys on my expansion team has a nasty lvl 5 slider. Threw it yesterday and watched as Manny Ramirez fouled this nasty pitch and caught the ricochet on his foot. He had to be removed from the game.

So batters foul balls off themselves in this game? Besides MVP I cant think of any other baseball game that has that. The show needs to add it.

Not often but it does happen. One of my guys got hurt when it happened but ended up staying in the game.

Took the advice and got a couple of batters hit last night. Don't think I will do this too much though as my catcher took one in the face and is now out for two weeks with a fractured cheekbone. So BEWARE, this CAN injure the batters. Also, the batter does not appear to get credit for a "walk" only "hit by pitch".

I hurt my catcher as he dove for a foul ball behind the plate...he crashed into the wall. At first I thought he caught it... Oh well..

-1 for reyes
-2 for Beltran
-2 for Delgado
-1 for Wright

And on the opposing team pitching stats it showed that the pitcher walked 6 batters

Honestly I did not check the opposing pitcher stats, should have done that too. I did check my hitters' stats after the game and the guys that the opposing pitcher hit did not get credit for a walk. So it may be showing up for the pitchers but not the hitters?

I got hit a few times last night and during the game when the in game pop-up screen it says HBP, but at the box score at the end of the game I had 2 walks so this DOES work. While it may not be realistic, I will take it in order to get my obp away from batting avg.

Sorry but I realize this don't work like I thought.........Checking the season stats only give you HPB not a walk.

Are you sure? I haven't checked my season stats, but in the end game box score they show as walks. I'll have to check next time. Wow, that does suck if it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure in real life that a HBP does not count as a BB, so technically the game probably does it right even though the end game box score says otherwise.

Yeah, the end game boxscore claim it as a walk but f you check the season stats on the main menu its not credited for.

The 6 walks I got didn't make it to the overall season stats....I only had a total of 4 walks while the rest of the teams were up in the teens already.
