First off, I would like to start out by saying that I absolutely love MLB 2k7 (post patch) as well being a die hard MVP 05 fan (PC version all modded) and I can honestly say this game at the moment for me trumps them all.
Where to begin... I don't think this has been mentioned yet but does anyone else love the booklet? It's huge, colorful, and has tons of information about every aspect of the game, as well as having little descriptions for every team. I can't help but get that nostalgic feeling reading it, reminds me so much of the SNES days. Speaking of SNES, this game reminds me a lot of "Extra Innings". It had similar in game art, and would also use smiley faces to display the status of players. Any way moving on... I couldn't believe how spot on the batting stances were. I mean they even got the little nuances in players swings down. For instance, Bobby Abreu's top tap, Ryan Howards bat point, and even David Wright's little ankle turn timing mechanism. The stadiums are just awesome, colorful, and VERY accurately modeled. I don't know, aside from the silly looking players the game just feels so authentic.
The only thing iffy for me so far is the pitching system. Although I'm sure I'll get used to it. I just think I'm so used to these next gen games where you need an encyclopedia and super quick reflexes to throw one over the plate. Well thanks to everyone here for creating buzz about this game. I don't think I would've given it a shot if not for the positive reviews from fellow OSers.
