Why is Auto-Baserunning AI so stupid? (MLBPP)

So I have the baserunning AI set so I'm in control of my lead runner only, but let's say I have a guy on 2nd and the batter grounds to SS. The guy on second will automatically start running. Why is that? Is there some sort of intelligence level I can set? Situations like that have given me WAY TOO MANY double plays. It's as if they think it's always two outs.

I'm not seeing this from the CPU or my team, I have my baserunning set to fully automatic.

Try setting it to semi-auto, but instead of normal change it to expert. Or you could change it to fully auto and put it to expert. I use that setting and it works very well for me. They make mistakes sometimes, but it is a lot better than normal. I don't mind a few mistakes because I don't want it to be perfect all the time.

So on expert, do they actually tag up from second base on a long fly ball or does it do like it does on normal and go half way. That always pisses me off.

From what I have seen, it depends on how deep the ball goes. If it goes to deep center or deep right the runner waits to tag. If you hit it to medium center/right the runner goes like 3/4s to 3rd base and then barely scoots back.
