Season with Expansion Team with Created Players?

I'm tryin' to figure out if this is possible, and if so, the easiest way to do it.

I wanna be able to Create Players to my heart's content ... specify their name, face, attributes, everything.

Then, put them on an Expansion Team in a Season.

You know, create a team of friends and family, and face off against the greats of the game.

    Is this possible?

Yes its possible but quite tedious..........creating a player in this game the exact way you want the player the be is VERY time consuming. You have to use the success mode to create players and you can't get every single ability in one playthrough.

Meaning if you want your pitcher to throw 95 MPH, have the intimidator abiity, Groundball, etc. or a Batter with Power, Tough out ability, gold glover, etc you will have to play that mode a lot to get the right balance on what to do in the story to get those abilities opened to use.

Not to mention you have to buy pitching and batting stances to use for your characters.

I advise you to just use the expansion team as it is.......they have fictional players already assigned to the teams instead of creating a whole new team.

But if you have the time and will......go for it.

Yes, I can see that would be tedious...

But "EDit PLayers" gives you full flexibility, so..

What about taking Free Agents or some minor leaugers and editing them in "Edit Players"? Is there then any way to get those edited players onto an Expansion Team in a Season?

I think my answer is no.

So I'm just gonna go edit my Cubbies into my friends and family, and then play with them in a Season.

You guys who are using Arrange Team ... I commend your patience. I have no interest in trying to generate 100,000 points just so I can use an Arrange Team in a Season. I'll just take the quick and dirty route .. edit the roster in Edit Players.

I just can't get completely "into" this game as a real sim, so my solution is going to be to put my son and my dad and my friends on the field and play pretend.

I do love the ability in Season mode to move between divisions. I'm thinking of taking the Cubs over to the AL East to battle the Sox and Yanks, or maybe switch with the White Sox in the AL Central. I'm tired of playing the NL teams, after a whole season of playing the Cubbies in The Show 07.

I just restarted a season with an expansion team and it is so much more rewarding with fake players because of their lower abilities and you really have no pre-conceived notions about how they should play.

          It's definitely a challenge!

Is there a mode to watch CPU vs CPU play? And can you turn off the announcer's commemtary?

I think CPU-CPU is possible. Never tried it, but it looked possible, at least in Exhibition mode.

Yes, you can definitely turn off the horrible announcer. I have him off permanently. Backyard Baseball was better than this clown.

Thank you. Can anyone else confirm CPU v CPU play. Also, how much is this game?
