Is it just me, or are pitchers the HARDEST players to get out in Power Pros!?

This is no joke, 30 games in the season and they're probably batting over .750 against me. I pitch them tougher than I pitch Howard, and they still shoot the ball any which way all over the yard.

Conversely, I'm not one to complain too much, since not one of my starters in my draft (Colon, Matsuzaka, Verlander, Wakefield, Wolf) is batting under .300 at the moment. For some reason, these guys are just impossible... even when I bat with them.

    WHY?

Blzer, I had noticed the same thing ... thought I was letting up and they were getting lucky.

Pitchers have also been knocking me all over the yard....usually a solid single over the infield.

Up 5 - 4, bottom of the ninth, put in Rivera who is absolutely lights out in this game. Tom "Flash" Gordon is due 4th.

First pitch, nice cutter. Dribbler between third and short, closer to third, and more appropriate that he gets it because he can cut off the throw and his momentum is going toward first.

      Nope.

The game decides to give me the shortstop as I'm running thinking I was supposed to be third baseman. Infield hit.

Next batter, first pitch, blooper to David Ortiz. Error. **** you, Ortiz.

Next batter, first pitch, routine single, nothing I can do about it.

So bases loaded, and no outs. Flash Gordon is up (because, as you know, the game likes to keep their pitchers in because they can hit). He has the sad-*** purple face and is batting .000 on the year. His cursor is smaller than my... well... it's small. I throw him a beautiful cutter that paints the low-inside corner. Son of a bitch, on a contact swing mind you, hits the ball off of the ivy in Wrigley and they win the game.

Never been so pissed off playing a game that I love so much before.

It's not possible for a human player to do that. Seeing something like that would instantly make me drop the AI hitting level. That's CPU cheating of the highest order.

If you don't believe me, go into HRD with Flash and try it - you won't hit one past the middle of the outfield.

Pitchers are nailing me too, and I'm money with my pitchers. Even Adam Wainwright or Feliciano (can't remember who) were getting hits for me too.

They're automatic outs for me most of the time anyway.

Re: Is it just me, or are pitchers the HARDEST players to get out in Power Pros!?

No bug, just dumb ****ing luck.

As a matter of fact, is seems as though players with smaller contact zones either A) give you a better lock-on thing because the game decides to get it as close as possible to your power thing, or B) is psychological, and makes you as the batter try HARDER to get it in that center when hitting.

When I bat with players with small circles like that, I always choose power. I say hell, it's going to be hard to hit anyway... might as well try and get it out of the infield at least.

The strangest thing though, is that aside from Randy Wolf, my other 4 starters are from the American League (Colon, Verlander, Matsuzaka, Wakefield). Remember, I did a draft. Anyway, I'm using everything All Star for the other team, and currently on Lock-On 2. I even batted once with Hideki Okajima and he got me a triple off the wall.

Wakefield is now at .222 after playing yesterday, but it's still so strange that they can hit so well, and my roommate's created player (err, edited from Kevin Frandsen actually) is much better than G contact or G power, and has an average below the Mendoza line along with a strikeout/AB ratio much higher than any pitcher on my team.

Their pitchers are just as tough to get out. I wasn't kidding when I said what Gordon did. This game really only has two/three things that piss me off; 1) Their pitchers can hit better than anyone else; 2) The game selects the wrong fielder 60% of the time, and when it does switch to the right fielder it has a 25% chance that it will switch again before I get to the ball; 3) The AI seems to capitalize most in innings that are extended because of stupid hits that never should have been hits.

I can live with most anything else, but this game can easily aggravate me.
