Pitchers Stamina
It seems that no matter how high my pitchers stamina is rated he only goes about 5 innings. On top of that as soon as the first signs of fatigue set in the MPH on your pitches drops dramaticly. Like my pitcher will be throwing 95 and then suddenly he can only hit 88. Any tips on this?Go Yankees!

Re: Pitchers Stamina
Sounds to me like you are throwing with maximum effectiveness on every pitch. I only throw as hard as possible 4 or 5 times and inning, and have no problem pitching into the 7th and 8th innings. -
Re: Pitchers Stamina
I have been rarely throwing as hard as possible with Zambrano, and made it to the eighth.[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: Pitchers Stamina
If you pitch normally, I couldn't say for sure exactly how it works.
I use "expert" pitching mode. In that mode, your first "X" hit sets what I would call the Stuff (fastball is faster, slider has more slide!, etc.), then you move the left stick to set the location and your second "X" push is supposed to be timed to when the cursor gets to its smallest point. The closer you come to pushing-X-the-second-time when the cursor is at its smallest, the more accurate the pitch.
At least that's how I understand it.
So what I was saying above ... is that on the first "X" button push, I just tap it much of the time. I don't hold it down on my fastballs, because that wears out the pitcher (which is logical and cool--firing at top speed all the time is tiring!).[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: Pitchers Stamina
You're welcome.
Now, I have my own pitcher fatigue problem.... I'm trying to play with a five-man rotation, and the game is telling me that my starter (who had the requisite four days off, plus an off day, for a total of five) is still not back to full strength...
What gives?[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: Pitchers Stamina
Please, someone help me. My season has come to a standstill in the first week.
I have the Cubs. My first four starters have "A" stamina ratings, and my fifth starter is a B. I set up a five-man rotation, and started playing the season. When I got back to my second starter for the second time, I see that all five of my starters show the gray circle face, and have varying levels of fatigue. The second starter (who SHOULD be fully rested) is about 3/4 full on the fatigue bar, and the game recommends that I use a bullpen guy to start. With a five-man rotation? In the second week of April?
What gives here?
Is it because I put a couple of pitchers into a training session? Am I supposed to put them into Rest mode in practice?
Please, please, please, I would like to continue this season and I have no idea what to do next.
I tried starting the next game with my second starter. He was huffing and puffing in the first inning. This is ridiculous.[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: Pitchers Stamina
You should use a spot starter. I have Jorge Sosa as my spot starter for the Mets. About 40 or so games into my season my starters have 7 or 8 starts and Sosa has 3 or 4. There's real no way around it from what I can tell. The good thing is the CPU controlled teams do this as well except sometimes they use guys with real low stamina who only start the game for like an inning or two.Goozex

Re: Pitchers Stamina
Wow, that's annoying.
I should not be forced to use a spot starter the second time through the rotation in the second week of April ![Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: Pitchers Stamina
Agreed...I think my 3rd time through my rotation to start off the season I needed a spot starter. At least the CPU does it too, so it's not entirely too badGoozex
