Re: So Gamecube owners can only choose between ASB and High Heat? Sigh.
What does console wars have to do with anything? Sport games don't sell on the GC and that's why their not being released on that system. Sega said they didn't sell many sports games and that's why they are not making sports games for the GC. Guess EA doesn't want to bother making MVP for the GC.
Also don't think you really want a console monopoly. If their was then they wouldn't make as many good games. -

Actually, we would have more games, because the userbase would be more concentrated onto one system and it would be a more certain investment for 3rd party developers. The only thing that might suffer would be system hardware performance.
The console wars have everything to do with it because they have fragmented the userbase and made it almost impossible for a publisher to make games for everyone to play. They have to choose XBox, PS2, or GC and they have to make a substantial investment for EACH system in order to publish for it. So the odds are far more likely that any particular game will only be ported to one or two systems (perfect example is WSB last year, XBox only).

I think anyone who has a love for sports games should buy an XBOX, if they can afford it. It's the most powerful system, so your games may look a little more shiny. The important part is the memory, though. XBOX has an 8 gig hard drive built into it, which means you can save as many freakin games as you want without buying a single memory card. When I first bought it, the memory reading was 50,000+ blocks free. Now I have four WSB franchises saved, an NFL2k3 franchise saved & misc other game saves & the memory reading still says 50,000+ blocks free. Yes.Comment

If you ever even get close to the limit of 8 gigs, you're psycho =P I wasn't aware that something like that was coming out for PS2, but that's more extra stuff you gotta spend your money on. The XBOX hard drive is already in every XBOX.Comment
