Re: mlbpp, hrs with contact swing?
Not too often, you have to hit it perfect. When I want to hit a HR, I just try it with the power swing. It feels cheap sometimes but hey, what can you do? -
Re: mlbpp, hrs with contact swing?
I have yet to hit or see one, which pisses me off. I really wish there was a one-type swinging system. I don't ever feel the need to hit for power with powerless people or hit for contact with powerful people... so that way, it results in many home runs for the powerful people, and zero home runs for the powerless people.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

That's when I use discipline, Blzer. I have Ryan Howard and he leads the league in HRs with like 24 or something @ the All-Star Break. I could go for HRs all the time with him but a lot of the times I just swing with contact and see what happens.Comment

Anyway, I just wish they would add that option for their next installment.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I strike out swinging more than I'd assume I would, definitely weird.Comment

Re: mlbpp, hrs with contact swing?
I think the developers wanted players to switch between power and contact swings based on the count, regardless of whether the batter is a power hitter or a contact hitter. That's what I do, and it feels realistic to me. If it's a 3-0 count, I'm usually going power even if I'm using Juan Pierre, and if it's a 0-2 count and an RBI situation, I'll often use a contact swing even if I'm using Howard. It's unlikely that Pierre would hit a homer in that situation, but a triple in the gap is a likely and realistic result.Last edited by koolranch; 11-11-2007, 10:55 PM.Comment

Re: mlbpp, hrs with contact swing?
It still doesn't matter. The contrast in home runs from power hitters to contact hitters, because of how you decide to choose to swing with them most of the time, is about 4000 : 1. I just wish there was a different way to address it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
