Re: ASB2004 - criticisms and observations

    If its like last years:

On real high popups where the trajectry is very steep, you can stand on the circle, but if its a line drive, in order to have the ball hit you in the numbers you have to stand well in front of the circle

My biggest gripe so far has not even been mentioned, I don't think. I'm having a huge problem catching fly balls and I know it shouldn't be this hard. When a ball is hit to the outfield, I move the fielder as close to the center of the blue circle as possible, but the guy doesn't catch it in the air most of the time. This is crazy. I must have missed 6 or 8 fly balls in my first game because of this. I know that if you get the guy in the right place, the fielder animation kicks in and you catch the ball, but sometimes you don't have the time to get the animation and that's where the problem is. I'm sure this will get better the more I play, but I have never had this problem with any video baseball game.

Badgun put your fielder closer to home plate instead of in the center of the circle. In other words put him in the circle along the inner edge closest to where the ball is coming from. I had the same problem.

Thanks bk, I finally remembered that from last year and started catching them. Guess I'm just used to HIgh heat where the outer edges of the circle might cause you to miss the ball.
No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

No offense or anything, but who is the genius that decided, "You know what...if the player centers their fielder in the circle, let's not have him catch the ball...let's make him move it ot the front of the perimeter!" I mean, come on...this can't be a design decision, can it?? And it it was like this last year, why the heck wasn't the algorithm corrected????

I was doing the exact same thing. Until I remembered that ASB was like that last year. You liking the game so far Badgun?

                    Capa,

Well I would suppose HH and other BB games have made it so the the circle is the best place to catch the ball. Where as in ASB it's where the ball will land.

You are right, I don't get it but if they want to get people pissed off stuff like this is a surefire way.
