I predict 2k8 will give the Show a run for its $ on the PS3 in '08

Well, as much as I love the Show, I really feel like 2k8 will give it a run for its $ this Spring....especially if the visuals on the PS3 match the visuals on the 360.

While the Show is improving its visuals and improving an already stellar gameplay foundation, if 2k8 can match the 360 visuals and make the gameplay respectable and fun, I may have a hard time sticking with the Show for the 3rd year in a row.

Both will be good games but if 2k8 does the following (some of these features are not confirmed for PS3), I believe it will be the more immersive experience for me:

1. Manager argument feature
2. Classic stadiums
3. Ability to control all teams (so I can watch any teams game during the season/playoffs)
4. A playoff mode
5. Custom soundtrack IN-GAME, allowing for customized batter walk-up, HR music, etc.
6. Throwback unis
7. In game updates on other games in you VIRTUAL season (NOT real life)

I have a feeling The Show is the reason they wanted to upgrade the PS3 version so much. No, not because people were complaining... but because people were going to the other game.

I'm glad they caught up with the PS3 version.

It would be great to have TWO great games. It does get stale at time playing the same game over and over each year, even with little fixes, new team unis, new stadium coming, etc., so the more, the merrier.

This is a big one for me. This would be a simple fix to the screwed up roster mess that is currently in the game. Regardless how good it looks I can't get past the lineup deficiency in this game. Come on Kush, get it right.

It's more than that Inkcil. The visuals are wonderful but..............

It's runners advancing correctly, the pitcher/batter interface, the franchise bugs that always, always, always rears its ugly head. And defensive controls, and,,,,,,,,,,,,

not if 2k8 is running at 30fps like last year. After reading the additions of MLB the SHow this year, I highly doubt MLB 2k8will be any where near it. Hopefully I am wrong.

I have a feeling you will be back with 2k this year. Any ways I agree with Jim, I want both of these games trying to out do each other every year. So I hope both games make some kick *** baseball. I think I will be getting a PS3 this year.

Aside from MLB2K7, IMO, 2k regressed with every other sports title they released this year. For that reason, I'm struggling to put faith in them to do the right thing with MLB2K8. I hope I'm wrong, though.

The hockey and basketball games did that? I thought this years hockey is better than last years and I thought everybody like the basketball game too.
Even if you are going at that, you have to admit 2k7 was way better than 2k6. So you have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Yep I saw that, but you are saying you don't have faith in this game because of those reasons. That is why I said look at the leap 2k7 made over 2k6. Also, what is wrong with the basketball and hockey games this year?

Besides the recent interview on IGN, I've gotten a little insider info that pretty much confirms this. In fact 2K8 MIGHT be visually better on the PS3 than it is on 360 this time around.... but that's not completely confirmed:wink:

Unless 2K8 snuck in a manage only mode...
Also....IMO they've got too much catching up to do to get them this year....especially since the answers to the questions have been throwing at Chris and Kolbe(SCEA) are simply making the wait EXCRUCIATING!
I hope you're right...but I seriously have my doubts for this year.
It's gonna take not only 2K improving, but MLB The Show to slip...and I just don't see that happening.

I'd comment further, but 2k is not commenting on any of the questions and concerns on the boards yet, so, now news is not good news. Perhaps when the start confirming several nagging things with the game. Silence is not golden.

Your line of script should be written in stone and sent to ALL game developers who make any game that doesn't allow that feature. Gotta give kudos to EA for adding feature to their football games.

blessed to have both systems.....will be getting both...now if i could combine the 2,with the things 2k does right,and the things the show does right....we would have hellva game...
