    ASB04 - Initial Impressions (Ps2)

ASB2004 is to ASB2003 as High Heat 2004 is to HighHeat 2003. Same thing....if u liked the series before, you will like the new upgrades. If you didnt like it before, you still wont. All the same little things that bug you about last year's ASB are still lurking this year:
    -the crouching players
    -the "loose" control over fielding
    -the bad baserunning A1
    -20 hits = 3 runs
    -outfielders too damn slow
    -still HR happy

Here's the good news...the game is more enjoyable this year thanks to the following:
    -new umpire sounds
-cool check swing appeals (though they get tiring after a bit)
-GREAT idea of adding 4 types of batting interfaces!
-game is a LITTLE bit faster paced
    -cool new front end

I LOVE the fact that I can use "High Heat" style "Zone-Hitting" with this game! It's just so nice to have an "unubstructed" view of the pitch coming in. I have been playing on Veteran difficulty, with exagerated pitches on, with zone batting and the challenge seems just about right. My biggest gripe is the "stiff" control over the fielders and the slower than HighHeat game pace. I also dont really like the pitching interface. I dont use the visible pitching cursor, but I like HH's pitching setup better and have a feeling I am going to like MVP's even better. Anyway, it's a little more fun than last year's game, but still has most of the flaws of the past versions. A solid, DEEP game. Great if u like a deep franchise mode ( I dont care about that). I basically got this game at EB to keep me busy for the next 2 weeks until I can exchange it for MVP or WSB.

I agree! I've purchased ASB every year but to me its the same old non-fun factor! I will wait for the other 3 titles coming soon for the XBox!

1-I dont see why his bothers some ppl.

2-you must have it on assist fielding because I dont have this problem. They tend to control your player if the ball is hit directly at them but thats fine.

3-I agree, thats IMO what makes HHs gameplay so fun.

4-You stated that u use zone cursor, exaggerated pitching and play on veteran so thats the problem there. I adverge 7-8 hits pergame and I play on allstar withe normal pitches. Sometimes I cant get over 5 hits.

5-outfielders seem fine to me. My CF is fast and can chase down balls in right field and left. My LF and RF are slow and cant reach the foul lines when a ball is hit there. In HH I fell the fielders move to fast, they chase dow anything in the air even if they are a slow runner so the speeds in ASB are near perfect.

6-I wanna know what you do to hit homeruns b/c in 26 games I have 22 homeruns total on my team. So it seems pretty real to me also.

Not tryna argue with you but I felt as if those cons you listed for the game were a little misleading.
