Just picked up WSB 2K3 at lunch today...

Anything I should know before I head home to play it? I mean last year I had High Heat, anything that'll help me in the transition?

My suggestion--especially if you have been used to HH--is to scour this board for the best slider settings before you play.

Mine are:

Medium variable pitching
Pitching cursor off
Strike zone off
Timed hitting (although some people don't like this)
Very Fast Pitching Speed
Errors: Many (although some games I may have had too many)

CPU Pitching: 100
CPU Batting Average: 25
CPU eye, balls: 70
CPU eye, strikes: 35
CPU throw strikes: 1
CPU stealing: 50

Regardless of the type of hitting you use the "A" (Xbox) or "X" (PS2) for the contact swing and "B" (Xbox) or "O" (PS2) for the power swing.

For timed or cursor batting you just tap the button to take a swing. For Power Pro batting you need to press and hold the button and release it when you want to make contact with the ball.

i personally love high heat's batting system and think its the best way to play videogame baseball imo but wsb's non cursor batting is just too simplistic without directional aim and solely based on timing. that being said, wsb's standard cursor batting aint that bad either. i think its the best one i've played with.

WSB is like they took ASBs batting interface and made it alot better. Unlike ASB it's not slow and cumbersome, making it actually possible to get hits.

2k3 is still the best. CPU hit variety, foul balls, cursor batting, it's the total package...

Wow, I dont even remember this game having sliders and I LOVED it back in the day. Back when I played 2k3 I didnt visit boards though, that was when I would just play for fun and people didnt have me going insane in the membrane over stuff like that.
