MLB Power Pros 2008 release date and boxarts!

Spotted on the 2K forums posted by an admin, the release date for Power Pros 2008 Wii and PS2 is July 29. No date given yet for DS other than "Fall 2008."

Supposedly there's some new screenshots of the game up on 2Ksports' Myspace and Facebook pages, but I can't get to those so I can't post any new screens.

I sure hope you can actually edit the rosters without all the hassle like last year. Last year's game would have been almost perfect if the rosters could have been tweaked a litlle bit.

Great news! I wish a PSP version was available, but I can live with the DS version I guess. I'll pick up the Wii version in July and the DS when it comes out (Sep 1st according to EBGames).

I'm still playing the current version a lot, this is one gem of a game, I was a little put off by the kiddie graphics at first, but once I got beyond that, there's a great game of baseball underneath, hell I actually love the little players now lol.

Is there any info on what new features/improvements the 2008 version has?

Lol, I love the graphics too, it actually makes the game more fun to me. Also, they added My Life mode which I'm pretty sure is just like success mode but when your player is in the majors.

Wow, the My Life mode looks really good. I tried Success mode in the current game, but found it to be too boring, so I just stuck to Season Mode. My Life sounds more like what I'd enjoy

Has anyone played Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball Portable 3
for the PSP? I'm thinking about getting it, as this series seems perfect for the PSP and 2K is not bringing the PSP version over. I think 3 is the latest version.

Is the menu system similar to the US versions of the game where I could fumble through the menus despite having no knowledge of the Japanese language, or would I just be spinning my wheels?

Yeah, I absolutely love success mode, but My Life mode looks like it might be better. From what I've seen on the screenshots on IGN it looks like there is still dating, and then other stuff you can do in your off time.

Nope. I can't imagine they'll ever have a 360 version. The US versions are little more then translated ports (And in the case of MLBPP, a stripped down port at that) of the Japanese versions... and considering the 360 is for all intent and purpose nonexistant in Japan I doubt they'd bother with it.

I assume a PS3 version will come in time however, but not likely until the PS3 stops selling.

That's what I thought, and 2k wouldn't make a 360 version because like you said the games are just translated ports, so unless konami makes one there won't be one for 360.

Nice! I didn't think the release date would be this early. I'll make sure to reserve this in the next week or so - it'll probably be out before MVP 08!

To the poster in regards to the Japanese version of PP.
I bought #2 last winter.
It is virtually impossible to get past the language barrier.
I even had the MLB PP screens loaded on my PS2 and tried to advance screen by screen with my PSP with the Japanese version running. Not even close.
If MLB PP was available on the PSP it would be my portable game of choice and the Show would be on the shelf.
My two cents
