Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I haven't seen someone get hit by a pitch(except when I did it when I was mad at the CPU they just hit a HR and I was ticked). Also, it doesn't really matter that you're a hacker because you're not missing out on much, I have yet to see a walk yet so you can keep hacking away and not miss much if any. Also, players don't charge the mound if you hit them.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
gotcha,,,thanks.
Just saw something else cool tonight, don't know why I never noticed this or saw it happen before, but I was the Royals and trying to turn two with Pena at short, and it was a groundball towards the middle,,,and he reached out with his glove, snagged the grounder then flipped it to 2nd with the glove,,I was like no way, and I replayed it and sure enough he did it, thought that was pretty cool.
Also on ground balls to the infield I like to move towards first before I make the throw, it gives the fielder a cool quick crow hop looking animation.
And one last thing,,,saw a sign advertisement in Kaufman Stadium on the OF wall that said G-Nuts,,,lol..just thought that was odd and funny.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Man, this game sounds great. I'm going to pick it up for my son (and me, hehe) on his Nintendo DS in a couple weeks when it comes out.
Is there a features list anywhere for the DS version of the game? I'm sure it won't be as extensive as the Wii or PS2 version. I just want to see how much of the game carries over to the Nintendo DS side...Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I picked this up for the Wii, and I have to say I'm very pleased with my purchase so far.
This game is so deep, but yet so fun to play!
One thing I need to get used to is using the digital pad to throw to the bases.
Hitting is a challenge, so is the fielding. My first game with Halladay I had 11 KO's through 7 innings. Then I brought in my relievers and I got smoked! Lost 5-0 to the Yankees. What other baseball game gives you the option to warm up your picthers before you pitch??Last edited by Peter_OS; 08-09-2008, 05:20 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I just picked this up for PS2 - I'm guessing that there's probably no real way to get an updated roster file or we have to go goofy and figure out how to do it all ourselves with the Arrange feature, correct?
I'm really liking it so far though - good stuff.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Why do none of the pitchers throw to their full speed? I can't get a pitch higher than 93Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Ive hit 91 with Pedro, 95 with Jorge Sosa, Johan Santana, and Billy Wagner.
Its easier to get peak velocity with "expert" pitching. Gotta pick your spots with it though. YOur control will suffer and you'll gas out your pitcher.Comment

It's so simple, yet it's so challenging.
It's so simple, yet there is so much to the game, so much little stuff here and there.
I had the game last year and played alot, and got this years and played alot, and I think i'm just now getting consistent with hitting and fielding.
I like the challenge it presents. There is no invisible vaccuum around your fielder to trigger an animation for the fielder to suck in ranging ground balls. The diving is realistic and works if you get it right. You can even jump up and rob a line drive shooting through the infield.
And what other game has foul out third strikes straight back to the catcher? What other baseball game let's you use pink bats on mothers day?
This game is able to play a realistic baseball game, AND do it with not alot of time hassle. You can get a game in from anywhere near 17 minutes to 25 minutes. I've had a bunch of games go under 20 min all sim all realistic.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Type A with wii classic control uses the face buttons.
I usually go back and forth nad learned to use both ways, because we only have one wii classic control here. I've been meanign to pick another one up before they are gone, they got them used for like 14.99 at gamestop I think.Comment

He must be using the wii remote...because the wii remote uses the direcational pad to throw to bases even with TYPE A.

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Also, does anyone know where I can find a list of all the unnamed, ie 'Great', players in the game? I just sent the Wii version back to Gamefly because I intend on buying the PS2 version just because it's half the price. I'm not worried about going crazy with the rosters, I would just like to get all the missing names in before I begin a Season.Last edited by ravens52bears54; 08-10-2008, 03:29 PM.Comment
