I finally won a game. Beat the nationals 10-7. I'll take it! Is it just me or does the CPU go for the "Big Swing" with all players batting 1-6?

Which makes it HARDER to hit,,,,,lock on NORMAL,,,,or LOCK on 1,,,,and as you go up on the LOCKS it's easier to hit? Then even easier to hit on normal??

Just tying to turn my hitting down a little....thanks in advance.

Normal is the hardest, as there is no lock-on at all. As the lock on level gets bigger, the easier it gets to hit because your cursor will snap to the ball from even farther away.

Still no word on whether or not this works on the 80GB PS3?

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!

I did not play last year's game but since I've been reading all of these positive posts for this year's game, I decided to pick up the PS2 version over the weekend. I really didn't know what to expect and based on the pictures from the back of the box I was a little scared to even play this game after playing a franchise on MLB 08 for the PS3. It reminded me of the old RBI baseball game for the Nintendo when I saw the screenshots.

Anyway, I picked the game up on the way to visit my family Friday evening. When I first broke out the game my brother laughed at me because he had never heard of it and once he saw the players on the cover, he thought I had bought a kid's game. Let's just say that we got the first game started, we didn't turn the PS2 off for the next 6 hours. LOL We both got hooked. Even though the game looks and plays simple, it's not simple and we were amazed at all the cool features and depth that the game has. Not to mention the variety of hits and the differences in each game. When we play baseball games, we usually take turns playing against the cpu, where he'll play an inning and then I'll play the next. We won games close games, lost close games, got blown up, blew out the computer.....just saw all kinds of variety in our games. I haven't really got to mess with a season or anything yet but I can say that the game is definitely fun and even though I was skeptical at first, I'm glad that I gave it a try.

Hahahahahaha!!! I just saw the funniest thing!

Last year some people saw there outfielders toss the ball in the stands after a 3rd out at home after they press a certian button to trigger it.

Well I never got it to work, so I pretty much gave up on it, usually I do the flip to the 1st base coach if it's in the infield to end an inning at first.

                Anyways,,

I;m the Dbacks, got Dunn in the Outfield, he catches the 3rd out, now he isn't even close to the wall or the stands in foul territory, I pretty much just hit the X button on the wii classic controller as a habit to get through the between inning stuff, so I can be an impatient masher with this game.........so Dunn catches it, I am mashing the X button,,,and Dunn turns and HEAVES and throws the ball right up in the stands,,,not even a toss,,,,,I was like holy crap that was hysterical!!!! It was funny because he wasn't even close so he had to throw it with some force...lol. I never got this to work before so I don't know why or how, but it was hysterical.

Yeah, I got it to happen in last years game about 3-4 times. I don't think the player will ever throw it into the stands if you are close, I think you have to be far enough away from them for it to work.

It's just hysterical because he just turned around and launched it up there.

Also in the same game Hudson had a diving stop up the middle and fired it to first from a kneeling position, it was pretty sweet. This game rules.

Just picked the game up today guys and im looking to see what the best settings are. I'm looking for a challange and to keep stats as sim as possible.

I'll be using the classic control.

Yeah I am experimenting now with this years game, it's a little different this time around.

CPU batting on EXPERT, seems that the CPU should be hitting a little better, but when I bump it up, CPU hits too good.

My batting I have on Normal with no lock,,,and I need to prolly hit a little better, but with Lock on 1, I hit a little bit too much I think, so I might be right in between on both,,gotta test it out more, need more games to see exactly what is what.

Same here as i've only played a handfull of games and can't seem to find the right set just yet. But even still even at normal for both teams im having a lot of fun just messing around.

Quick question though are the HD cables worth getting for the wii? How big is the difference between 460i vs 460p?

The game just doesnt look right on my Sony.

In terms of Roster Updates on the Wii, wouldnt it be possible for someone to upload their gamesave and the downloader loads it, saves the Roster, and goes from there?

I tried updating the rosters but its soooo tedius and anoying. For example, after adding a F/A to a team, you can;t delete them from Free Agency -- or so I havent had any luck with it.

Can someone with updated rosters please try that, PM me and I'll see if I can crack the issue?

Also, where do the players go when I remove them? The players I want to go into Free Agency arent going there, but rather, I have no idea where they are... WTF kinda system is this?

Seriously, wtf were these developers thinking? In Arrange the teams are updated, but I go to start a game, and they're not. What's going on?

It is not possible on the wii. It just won't work, and their are no transfer devices for it.

Gotta love MLB, what's the stupid point of a trade deadline, when everyrone makes deals after it anyways.
True, though I'm pretty sure the waiver trade deadline is the end of this month. Then again, you still have the issue of September call-ups, so the problem never ends. I was pretty much content to play my dynasty opening day with more or less Opening Day rosters. Once you get going, the Season becomes an alternate universe anyway!
