What are some of the things that make you hate the game at times like you mentioned earlier?Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
The computer never seemed to manufacture runs, and most runs came off of homeruns.
I spent way too much time editing the rosters when I should've just played the game, this is one of the biggest problems I had with the game. There were a lot of peoples who's ratings were completely wrong IMO, and I just kept looking for people to fix when I probably would've never noticed it anyway.
I took it too seriously, not sure how to describe it, but I guess I wasn't having any fun at all playing it but I kept forcing myself to play it when I should have set it down for a little while and come back to it later. The reason I loved 07 so much is because I had tons of fun with it, but then I got too obsessed with getting really realistic results and that led to me editing lots of peoples ratings.
I also hated how we couldn't hit a homerun with contact swing.
So basically a lot of it was my own fault, and for every negative in this game there's at least 5 positives IMO.Comment

It got sort of boring after a while, that probably had to do with me playing so many games in it, usually with the same players(which is why I actually created a whole team of fictional players).

The roster stuff definately sucks, I did some for the wii awhile back, but I'm just going to take my time do a few a day for the ps2.
I just feel I'm able to get a good game of baseball, low scoring, high scoring, hit variations, and a nice package in a game under 30 min. I gave up on 2k9, tried all sorts of sliders, and still couldn't get consistent realistic results, added to games that were in the 45+ min range.
Game time isn't a big thing for me, I sit through watching tons of regular baseball games on tv.....just that with the video game side of things,,..it';s a bonus when the game time is shortened, because let's face it, when you get older, gaming time is limited, so if you can squeeze more games in, in your gaming window, thats a bonus. I suppose I'll try MLB09 for ps2 and see how I like the feel of that game, but PowerPros seems lke the best game of baseball for me right now.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
My wife and I picked up a Wii this weekend. She's wanted one for months, and New Super Mario Bros. pushed me over the edge (it's terrific).
The hunt is on now (EBay or Amazon) for a reasonably priced PowerPros 2008. I can't believe it, but I actually forgot about this gem while buying the Wii. I played PP 2007 on the PS2 and loved it -- consider it one of the best baseball experiences out there -- and can't wait to get 2008.
I only owned a 360 until now. If MLB 2K10 does not measure up, PowerPros will keep me happy.
Edit: Just got a "like new" used copy off Amazon for $23. I cannot wait to play it; I only hope the Wii's component cables arrive first!Last edited by brendanrfoley; 01-05-2010, 11:49 AM.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I'm going to finally give this game a go. I picked up HH 2004 the other day and while I like it, it is a blue disc and it runs really, really hard on my PS2. So, I'd rather not take any chances and try another game.
Power Pros on the DS, while limited, was a lot of fun. I love the fact that you can play a game in no more than a half-hour, and still get realistic results. I'm still playing The Show 09 on PS2 and enjoy that a lot, but sometimes I just don't have the 60-75 minutes needed to play through a game.Currently Playing:

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
OK, so I picked this up today and it is a blast! Wish I had gotten to this game earlier, but hey, at least it's still around for me to play.
I like the interface for pitching, but I'm struggling to hit. Should I set the CPU pitching to NORMAL for now until I get the hang of things and then bump up the difficulty? And, can you hit HR's at all with normal swing or do you have to press R2 before for the power swing?
One more question, is All-Star a level higher than Expert or is it flipped?Currently Playing:

***You have to register before you download the file then you have to click on the blue disk at the top to download it.
The file was updated October 31, 2008 so that only leaves you one season and two offseasons that would need to be updated.
If you find one that is more updated please let me know cause I would love to get one, too.Last edited by Tomahawk; 02-04-2010, 03:57 PM.- LETS GO RED SOX!!!

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
The game was made and released in Japan last year. All 2k needed to do was translate it to release it here. Unfortunately, seeing how they didn't do that last year and they are cutting employees this year I wouldn't count on seeing it.- LETS GO RED SOX!!!
