Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Yes, you can change the average, hr's, and rbi's. For pitchers you can change their ERA too, but I can't remember if you can change any other stats for the pitchers.Comment

Yeah, you're going to want to edit their attributes and stats before you move them onto another team in arrange mode, because you can only edit players in the edit mode and not in arrange mode.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Finally pick this game up for the wii. Wow what a fun simple game. It reminds me of the days when i played Super batters up on snes. The fielding takes some time getting use to. But once you get in down its really fun to play. I like that i can finish a game in bout 30 to 45 mins or less. I just like how the HR looks. Its fun when your HR run hitter comes up and feels like he can knock it out everytime. Most i hit with one player was 2 HR in one game. I like how it looks even if it kind of looks like a kids game but it does not play like one.
Just wish i could update the roster with a Save. I give it a 9/10
Now can we get a power pros 2010?
I just got a wii so can you even download saves like ps3/360?Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
OK, so I picked this up today and it is a blast! Wish I had gotten to this game earlier, but hey, at least it's still around for me to play.
I like the interface for pitching, but I'm struggling to hit. Should I set the CPU pitching to NORMAL for now until I get the hang of things and then bump up the difficulty? And, can you hit HR's at all with normal swing or do you have to press R2 before for the power swing?
One more question, is All-Star a level higher than Expert or is it flipped?Currently Playing:

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
You should definitely start the cpu pitching out on normal until you get a hang of things. Probably keep the pitch speed to normal also at first.
I've played over 200 games in this series, and I have yet to hit a homerun with contact swing. There was one time I was only a foot or so away from hitting it out with contact swing, but that's the closest I've gotten. To hit homeruns you're going to need to use the power swing.
When batting, you should probably keep the ball cursor on so you can see where the ball is going to end up. I tried to turn it off one time, and it was an absolute disaster. You're going to have to try and pull pitches when you want to hit homeruns, that's where you will get the majority of your homeruns(from my experiences). It's much harder to hit opposite field homeruns, so try and swing earlier. Also, the easiest pitches to hit homeruns off of IMO are fastballs and changeups.
My suggestion would be to go into batting practice and try and get a hang of hitting homeruns(just use power swing the whole time). That's what I did when I first played the power pros series, and it helped me out a ton.
Hope this helps.Comment

Difficulty goes Normal, All-Star, Expert, Powerful correct? Just want to be sure I have the levels right if/when I bump things up.
Should I mess with the sliders at all or just play with everything @ default?Currently Playing:

Thanks, I really appreciate it. This is a fun changeup from The Show.

There are no sliders in this game. You can change the pitch speed to slow, normal, or fast. Also, you can individually change the level of the CPU's Pitching, Hitting, Fielding, and Baserunning if you want. I think you change it right before you start the game, where you see the settings tab(next to lineups tab). Once you change them, it will save and you won't have to change them each time(unless you want to change the settings again).Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
If you find using lock on hitting is too easy, you should set it to "normal" hitting. Normal is where you have full control of it, and don't get any help while batting.Comment
