I need help with Success Mode

Are there any good guides for the 2008 version? I have gone thru it 2 times now, and have been fired even though I think I have a decent player going.

What do I have to do to make it?

    Thanks

first is making sure you know where you stand with your:

    1) Coach - he determines when you become a starter
    2) Scout - he determines when you move to AAA and then the majors.

To check your progress with each go to Data>Eval and then look at the bars. When you pass the line for each you've passed.

    Here are some quick hints:

When practicing you can boost your Coach/Scout eval by:

*practicing the drill with the coach's head (in the white "bubble") next to your icon.

*practicing the same drill twice (or more) in the same week. This makes you more efficient in that drill and earns you more coach and scout points.

*practicing in Week 4 earns you certain practice bonuses.

*purchase certain powerups during the season and use them before practice - that purple fragrance can earn you extra Eval points and using the blue bonus candybar gives you extra practice points which means better evals

    *do well in your games

*do well on the pitching/hitting scouting practice drill near the end of success mode.

I'm new to this (only done fielders) but I've gotten a bunch of my players through. Just make sure you always make the most of your practices, games and use your points to boost. Be sure to monitor you practice under the Data-Eval screen to see where you stand.

If it's getting late in the season and you're not yet above the scout's bar, then you definitely want to choose the "aggressive" response to the scout's offer to evaluate you. If you take the normal test and pass it, you get a few scout points. If you choose the "I don't need 10 pitches" type of response, the scout will offer you a different test. That one is much more of a high risk high reward thing. It's harder to pass, but if you do, you get a lot of points. Fail, and if you were already behind schedule for promotion, you might want to think about starting a new success mode. Or take the cheese option and revert to a save point from before the scout challenge and do it again.

Thanks. I will see if those work for me the next go round.

If you don't mind using the save-load exploit (basically just reload if you get a bad outcome in some event) then the gambling tickets are the way to go for boosting pretty much anything but power, stamina, and control. I like to use them when the probability is in the 30-40% range.

Put all the stuff these guys have said int he back of your mind (it's good, but I offer the key).

Buy the necklace from the shop that increase scouts eval. It costs $300. You can check your scouts eval by looking at your data.
