MLB Power Pro 09 has the Real WBC!

MLB Power pro 2009 was announced in Japan a few weeks ago and this year they got the official World Baseball Classic license so you will see

- all 16 countries will have REAL NAME PLAYERS, finally some of our dream matchups will come true like Darvish Yu VS Derek Jeter shown in the screenshot
- real country uniforms
- real stadiums
- real rules like 13th inning tiebreak system

Awesome! Since it is the same publisher, I hope they decide to include the WBC with all the players in Pro Yakyuu Spirits 6. I would definitely pre-order if it came with that!

I dont know if Power Pro will come to PS3 but I wish Sony would steal some ideas from Power Pro, like put in Special Skills and Trajectory into The Show 2010. That would make a world of a difference and add so much personality and characteristic to each player.

Had last years for the Wii and 09 sounds like it will be great. But unless this comes out for PS3 or 360 I don't see myself getting it. I just don't enjoy playing games on the Wii at all.

It won't be, at least not the Japanese version. I'm still holding my breath for the US release, but it's very doubtful.

I mostly need it on PS3 simply so I can play it, but I'm also at loss that they're not incorporating things like online play, or at the very least, widescreen and 480p capability.

I just don't enjoy playing games on the Wii at all.

Was gift for my girlfriend who "needed" one because it looks like fun. Now it sits there and collects dust.

Selling it is not an option.

If its $20 on the PS2 again, I'll buy it just for the WBC. Last year's game got like no play at all.

There is no official release date yet. Speculation seems to have reached a consensus that it will be between the end of May and late July. The 2008 edition was released on July 28th. The 2007 edition was released on October 2nd. Konami might be trying to get the game out as early as possible while still having something of a development cycle. My guess? Late June.

If I am not playing one of the other baseball games when this game comes out I may just get it for the WBC...but I'm not so sure I'll still want to play the WBC at that point. I am glad they added this, and it would basically be the only reason for me to play the game as it got boring and easy for me after a while(this is just personal experience).

easy? did you have it on lock-on hitting or something?

I refuse to believe anyone can find this game easy if you have lock-on hitting off and computer pitch cursor off, especially in the MLB version when all the pitchers have crazy heat and breaking balls

Nope, I didn't use lock on or best try. I guess it just had to do with how much I played, I've probably played over 300 games(and probably 200-300 more if you count 07) and at the end it just got a little too easy. The one thing I did not do, though, is change pitch speed. I had completely forgoten that was in the game, so it was always set to normal. I've always wanted to go back and check if that would solve my problems with the game getting too easy, but I just haven't had the desire to go back and play it yet.
