Never played this game before... worth the investment? I'd be playing it on a Mac if that matters. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

It depends. It's a little overwhelming at first because of all of your options, but eventually you figure it out and its pretty fun. I recommend it, but definitely give the demo a try.

I have OOTP 9 but haven't played it in a while. Have a pretty sweet MLB fictional league but I am in salary cap hell and have to unload everyone. Still debating if I will get X...

Who am I kidding, of course I will. Great series. Even if you 'sort of' like baseball you should have this game. Great game to play on lazy afternoons and before bed.

Once you figure a few things out I would do a historical sim if I were you. Browse the forums for a starter pack (complete with logos and player pics). Most of the time when I'm taking a break from my fictional league I just do Historical sims and see how great players pan out. Cy Young is absolutely tearing up my current one.

I'm in a historical league right now with another OSer and some randoms and it's a crap load of fun.

I'm hoping they fix some of the financials in "X", but I'm sure I'll be picking it up. It's a fun little text sim.

What's the release date on this? As I have never played this sim before, how do updated rosters that are generated throughout the season work on OOTP?

It says spring, but I think I read that June is the target or something. I could be wrong.

Updated rosters are pretty easy, you just download them and move them into the saved games folder.

June was the release last year so I expect a similar target this time.
