don't get too excited, I outscored the Rockes 48-17 in a three game series including a 21-2 win. I hit 18 HR's in three games. Then I got swept by Giants in a 4 game series and got outscored 9-4 over the 4 game series. Like real baseball, sometimes you are totally on and just as quick you can be totally off.

This is totally true. Some games i score over 20 runs and just crush everything the pitcher throws. The next game i might be facing a tough pitcher and can't hardly get a hit.

Actually, yesterday i played against Pedro and couldn't get a run until the top of the ninth. The next game i played was against the D-Rays and i errupted for 44 runs. Thats right 44. That included 13 homers. I play on all-star with all aids turned off. It's just hit or miss. Sometimes you are on and other times you are off.

Don't forget that your players have Hot/Cold streaks as well. Last season (2003) in my game, Magglio Ordonez hit 11 HR in a 10 game stretch....later that year, he went 14 games without a HR (but still ended up with 64 HR).

Then you get some guys who are locked on the whole season. Joe Crede had a 72 game hit streak for me...that ended in his 73rd game, and then the very next game he started a 19 game hit streak.

I have beaten some teams very badly (played a 3 game series vs the Tigers, and scored 20+ in every game...hit about 25 HR as a team) and then turn around and get my butt kicked (got no-hit by C.C. Sabathia in the next game...but still won! ) and scored a total of 5 runs in the 4 game series.

I play on Veteran level, Classic Cursor, Exaggerated pitching, Strike Zone on (don't get realistic #walks with it off...) Pitching cursor on, and Generated Count on.

Veteran was way too easy for me until I turned Generated Count on...that immediately made all of my stats more realistic...I am now giving up walks, HR, I am walking a bit more, but also striking out more.

If you think any level is too easy, turn Generated Count on and it will instantly make a difference. Turning it on made it a very realistic game for me (I tried Normal Pitching rather than Exaggerated, but I like Exaggerated better).

Go to an exhibition and play against Randy or Pedro and see how well you do. You might still win, but i guarantee you will struggle to get some hits.

try generated counts and see if that helps. i find it harder to get as many runs when u dont have as much pitches to see

Yes ASB is still pretty easy to play for me. Try using Classic Cursor it will give a little more realism.

yeah...the especially fun ones are when you are facing a guy with a great curveball and fastball (i.e. most #1 starters) and you go up there with two strikes....all I can say is good luck.

In those situations, I guess (in my head) either curveball or changeup...if they throw me a fastball, forget about it. If the fastball is down and in, sometimes I can get around on it or foul it off. If the fastball is up, I am walking back to the dugout.
