    ASB red star homers

the red star homers are cool, cuz they barely make it out, but why the red star? especially when the cpu is in the field. it takes away from the drama, you know right away that it's gone cuz you can see the star. also, the rotating circle that marks where the fly balls will land, we don't need to see that when we're hitting.
    what do you guys think?

I agree. We don't need to see any markers when we're batting.

The red star means it's catchable, so if you time your jump correctly you can rob the homerun.

I understand that, the point is, why do I need to know if the ball is catchable when I hit it?
It's cool to have the star when on defense, but not when hitting.

You want to know where the ball is going to land so you know whether to send the runners or not. Since the ball goes off the screen for most of its flight time, it's impossible to judge distance unless there is a way of showing where it's going to land. If you were actually on the field of play, you'd be able to judge, so this is how the game is letting you know.

I hit a shot with the bases loaded with Julio Franco and the "red star" was on the fence. I knew to send my runners because it was a lazer shot, but I thought it was going to bounce off the wall for a double. It ended up clearing the top of the fence barely for a grand slam.

okay, but when you're playing baseball they don't throw up a red star so you can coach your bases accurately, you watch the outfielders and they'll tell you what the ball is doing.

It would be good if it was an option that you could turn on and off in the menu.

True, but you can also see the ball for yourself and be able to judge whether it has a chance of falling in or not.
